Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 3)

I don't know hoe I missed this thread!! I picked up my CV 50's P a little over a year ago, and I LOVE this thing. I shopped around a LOT and had a sizeable budget when I bought this thing. It just happened to be the best bass I played out of everything that I laid hands on. So, I bought it and had a bunch of extra cash in my pocket.

Completely love it!! Absolutely love the tone of the pickup, but am having issues with single coil interference. Anyone tried the Fralin Split pickup in these? I think I may give it a go.

Just got this today from zzounds. I just can't believe how terrific this bass is. The neck is perfect and the action is nice and low right out of the box. Also, I must say that pictures don't do it justice.

And here it is along side my 60's P bass that I recently bought off of a fellow TB'er. Both of these play and sound every bit is good as my MIM P bass. Amazing basses for the money.

I just bought a Squier Classic Vibe 60's Precision in Sonic Blue online and it should be here within a few days! That one is hard to track down, the blue one, and I'm not sure I made the right decision since rollyolly's red one looks so good with that mint green pick guard (someone snatch that up before I end up with 2). I'll provide pics when it gets here but until then I'm just happy to be counted amongst your numbers.

I was lucky in finding this Classic Vibe Sonic Blue NOS (New Old Stock) in beautiful, excellent condition. I added a Mint Green pickguard and a Chrome pickup cover to complete the vintage look. What made me want this combination was the fact that I seen the new 63' Fender Precision Vintage Reissue in Sonic Blue with the Mint Green pickguard. I'll tell you, this Squier is nothing to sneez at...It's the real deal, looks, sounds,and plays fantastic. Next, I picked up a ButterScotch Blond 54' Precision. Another very cool bass. Again, it plays, sounds and looks great. I added the Chrome pickup and bridge covers and I added a Maple tug bar. Nothing like getting alot of Fun on the cheap....

PS: I totally understand what you mean on modding. Chris has been the first bass I've modified past just the pickup.

I do play with my palm and pinky finger firmly rested / anchored directly on the saddles, so maybe thats why its wearing so quickly?

I do get a lot of grime on both the bridge and tunning pegs, but that always happens to me as I sweat unbelievably onstage and at rehearsals no matter how good the AC is

I'd say that's exactly why it's wearing so quickly, but you can't buy "road worn" that looks that good. A great looking bass with real mojo! Nice.

WOW...I really like that Fiesta Red/Creme combination, very cool.

I picked up one of the Matt Freeman versions last week, just liked the looks better than the standard 60's CV. It's meant to be just an extra to keep at a frequent travel location.

I'm pleasantly surprised - that's maybe an understatement - at how good this bass is. For under $500 including a cheap gig bag and a new set of strings, this is a very competent and giggable instrument. No setup issues that require any immediate attention either.

My American Standard P isn't going anywhere, but I could easily see getting another one of these for a backup. Excellent value.

The CVs look great. Does anyone know how the Vintage Modified Precision compares to the CV? I've been looking at both and trying to make my mind up. Any help appreciated. I already own a VM Fretless and am very happy with it but want to add a P Bass.
