yes, take care of that sticker. I predict that in the near future, the presence of that sticker in decent shape will increase the value of any CV on the resale market. Its a cool logo and it will be extremely rare. Im sure someone has come up with a good way to preserve them.

Yes I remember a listing of a Squier Jazz with that sticker listed for $500 and it sold in under an hour

Fraud for restoring a logo? So if we talk about putting a decal on real Fender or real Squier hardware, it's also fraud? What's your logic behind this? -_-
Recreating a decal and then putting it on an instrument to which it never belonged in order to increase that instrument's value would indeed be fraud.

All Squier Classic Vibe instruments from the 1st generation (2008-2019) had these stickers. What if we want to have back if they were taken off? Like what the actual heck it has to do with copyright and fraud??? It has nothing to do, you're completely going outside of the box here. Stop it
Yes I am a bit confused about the ordeal as well. The original conversation was strictly directed towards the Squier classic vibe instruments from the fiesta red photo posted on the last page.
Still a cool idea though about the sticker to restore an instrument looking as they were back from the 1st Gen era.

Any user of TalkBass is welcome to appeal decisions to the Help Desk. If I (or any mod) make a move that's contrary to the rules, it can be overturned.

I dont see how putting a Classic Vibe sticker on a Classic Vibe bass equates "advocating for fraud and committing copyright violations".

Obviously you are going to have problems here, so the best solution will be to send me the bass and I will gig with it, and send you pictures with the sticker photoshopped in. Everybody wins!

I didn't even realize there was a CV club! Can I join!?!
Here's a picture of my CV '70s JB in natural finish, made in 2008. My daughter got it for me for Christmas 2019 which got me into the bass to start with. She bought it off a doctor she works with that played it for a few months and then put it away in a case in a closet and then sold it to her when he moved. Changed the strings when I got it and that's the one that got me back into playing for the first time in 20+ years. Also changed out the bridge. Love the look of this model.

Beautiful Squier! But it is a 1st gen Vintage Modified 70 Jazz Bass. Not a bad bass at all, but I can only recommend being careful with the neck and check with a luthier to keep it straight!

Yeah, technically speaking, it is a Vintage Modified series, but I, for one, couldn't care less. After all, the new Classic Vibes are made in the same country as the previous VM's, so "six of one…a half-dozen of the other", eh? Better still, 2008 was when FMIC did an across-the-board revamping of their Fender and Squier quality control, so that's a great model-year to have. Kudos to you and your daughter!
