Are the CVs discontinued? I snagged the black 70s P Bass. Expecting it tomorrow. I have an Aguilar pickup laying around and a set of kellingsound controls. What's your experience with this bass?
Like the rest of the CV Series, they are great basses.

Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass '50s Assembly
I’ve been acquiring parts over the past year and a half for this bass. I wanted to have a semi-modded bass, taking the best (IMHO) from several P-Bass eras. I finally had no excuse and built it up this past week.

One of the biggest obstacles was mounting my new bridge, as the Squier CVs are all dimensioned with Metric holes and distances. The Fender grooved saddle bridge is SAE, so I ended up drilling out the four ‘outside’ holes, filling them with dowel rod, and then redrilling for the new bridge. Drill press is the only way to go…

almost done
End result is an instrument that required very little setup, sounds and plays exceptionally well. A definite keeper!

Yeah, I think the pickup output is better, but that might be subjective on my part. Here are the specs of the pickup I had jess loureiro make for me.

Hey @Tom McClintock, tell me more about this Jess Loureiros pickup. It is quite a bargain at under $50 US. What can you compare it too?
