Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 3)

I'm planning to replace the pickguard because it doesn't look "tortoise shell" to me but rather "brown marble texture"... anyway! Did someone replaced it on his/her own Squier CV 60s JB? :) Any size issues or perfect fit? Thanks!

I have a 60s CV P. I took a chance with a ebay pick guard from China that was for Fender. It fit perfectly. Every screw was perfectly lined up. I only needed to trim the neck slot because it was too tight. It is a quality piece. Not photo fake.

They are so cheap, why not see if it will fit your CV jazz? 4Ply Red Tortoise Shell JB Bass Pickguard 10 Holes & Screws for Fender Jazz Bass | eBay

I reckon that P pickguards are generally the same across the series (only some Squier affinity being part), but for J basses, they seem to be more options and I heard somebody with a basic Mexican reissue not being able to change its pickguard, even with a Fender made and Fender told them "then go make a custom pickguard with someone else". :D

So I went for a new pickguard anyway and all the screw holes aligned perfectly! Just a small ding on the bottom edge of the pickguard but it was listed as "near mint", not new, and had the two protective layers... which I already removed, because I didn't like the touch of it.

How do you like it? I know that a lot of people aren't very keen on purple :)

It looks like I missed your post last week. Sorry about that. However, the question is still valid.

I replaced the pickguard of a CV-J with a black/white/black one from AllParts. I'd call it a 95% perfect fit because one screw had to go in at a slight angle. All the other screws fit as they were supposed to, so no problem whatsoever.

I've had good luck with these fitting a Squier Precision (BWB) and MIM Jazz basses (tort). Not sure how the Jazz pickguard fits on a Squier CV, but for $10 shipped it's worth a shot. I've ordered two pick guards by this brand and both were very high quality.

If it did fit you'd just have to drill holes in the pickguard for the tug bar.
