Every time I see pearl blue, red, green, gold or purple on a white bass it makes me glad someone didn't opt for the boring old white, black or tort.

I'm about to spray my 50's CV P Bass Purple and cut a Purple Pearl Pickguard for it. Now it may just end up white. I'll have to convince my Guitar Player because I'm doing his Squire 51(Strat) also, to match.

Pardon my ignorance but what exactly is this bass? The only CV 50's Precisions I've come across are either white blonde or lake placid blue. I would love to get my hands on one of these
Also I unknowingly joined the CV club when I picked up my MF brand new the moment they became available. To be honest I picked it up mainly because Matt Freeman's bass lines from his time in Operation Ivy were a huge influence on me but was immediately absolutely blown away by this bass. I haven't come across a P I like better since.
Those MF Ps are great basses, pretty much everything a Precision should be to me.

Lake Placid Blue was the 1st 50's Classic Vibe, then Butterscotch, then Blond(white). I also have a Butterscotch. I found one 3 years ago that was New/Old stock online and snatched it up. From a Music store in Utah if my memory serves me correctly. Excellent Basses.
Mine is currently apart, getting a new color and Pickguard.
I Love my Squiers. 1 Fender in the middle.
Well, I'm now on the lookout for a Butterscotch CV 50s P. Nothing showed up on Ebay, Reverb or the other places I look, though I did come across a VM Cabronita that was interesting...
It took me a bit to find mine. Found a stock one on Reverb. Closest bass to a 51 I can afford. They are really nice!
The Squier Cabronita P Basses are really great instruments. I love both of mine but, I couldn't get along with the Fidellitron Pickup because of the high gain/distorted tone I commonly use. I put an EMG 35P4 in one and had a Custom shop pickup made for the other. The Maple Necks w/ Tele headstocks are fantastic !
That's my understanding though, I've been known to be wrong, occasionally. My Butterscotch dates to 2011 so that put it in the middle, IMO.

Man, those Matt Freeman CV’s are just incredible, based off of his 74’ fender precision he used in operation ivy I think. Those and the CV 60s p the pino palladino inspired one in fiesta red and the tortoseshell pick guard would be glorious in any collection.
I have a feeling that if the very same Matt Freeman's had Fender instead of Squier on the headstock, there would be a humungous cult founded around them, especially given the elevated fandom of P basses these days
