You've got me thinking about installing a bridge cover now. I like the look of pickup covers too, but I think they are the most impractical device for my style of playing. But a bridge cover...hmmm. I'm assuming one will fit over the stock Squier (2020) bridge.

Hehe... yea- I always rest my thumb on the pups - ‘no-go’ for *that* cover ;) IDK about the bridge cover over a stock bridge... IIRC - I couldn’t get one over a Gotoh 201 (which is similar to the Squier) - but can’t say for sure. Could prolly get one thru Amazon - w/free returns? Chances are that someone, here, will chime in with an answer!

Hey - I live in Nottingham - just a coupla miles from Essex... could nip on down - give ‘er a try?!? :laugh::D:roflmao: :thumbsup:

Haha. Wrong Essex mate, I live in the original one in the UK. Thanks for the offer though. (Threw me for a second though, Nottingham in the UK is more than a couple of miles from me).

The new 50s P bass has a different bridge to the Gotoh style. It's a simper 'bent steel plate' design with threaded saddles - a bit closer to the vintage aesthetic (although fender's website show it with regular slotted saddles).

Funny story... I have a (work) colleague who lives in Bolton - he emailed and asked if I cld ‘nip on down’ to see a gentleman in Florida... when I mentioned it’s a ‘20hr nip’ - he changed his plan!! :woot: Itsa big country - over here :hyper::hyper:

And here’s one I had built a couple of years ago. Squier body with added string through Ferrules, Seymore Duncan Antiquitiy PU, vintage tinted MM neck with skinny frets that feels and looks great and sounds pretty darn authentic.

Many thanks oh cheesy one! As well as the other compliments. I always enjoy your wandering eye reviews. I read them with interest even when it’s not particularly my thang. These basses may be considered a one trick pony by many. But it is one great trick. I used mine to play everything from jazz to funk and blues to country for decades. Even though I prefer a more refined ride in my old age I can still appreciate and enjoy the classics.
