Squier Deluxe Dimension Bass (IV & V string)

Yep, no mods required, but it will of course get even getter with a good detailed setup. I have to say though, that my Dimension Bass V would have been perfectly gigable right out of the box. I could have easily tuned it up and played a gig with it. My precision Bass V was a the same, although it does have a low fret. My VM Jazz Bass '77 was no where near this nice out of the box, and actually is still a bit lacking.

I have been fortunate. My Squier P5 is perfect, especially once I put on some Sadowsky rounds that deliver a perfect Old School Funk tone.

You happen tp know what size allen key fits the bridge adjustment screws on the Dimension? Mine came with no Tools at all and I have plenty to fit the truss rod, but i don't think I have one small enough for the saddle height adjustment set screw.

I'll have to check, I have a big bunch of them, I just try them on until one fits.

I recorded a VERY short demo of a run through of the controls (audio only) I start Flat and then run through each control Boosted fully, then a bit of a blend.

Dude....this sounds pretty darn good. Thanks for doing this. I would love to hear this in a mix/with a backing track or something. There are a few demos out there of the American Deluxe version and to me it just sounds like thud thud thud....no zip/zing/life...whatever. This actually sounds better to me....crazy, I know!

What kind of music are you most interested in hearing this bass in? I like to play just about everything and would love to try it out in the mix for all sorts of music, so I'll take suggestions.

The pearloid pickguard arrived. It turned out perfect. The white pearloid makes the bass look more expensive. It's fantastic!!!!!!!!! I will take a picture in the light of day.

Pickguardian is awesome.

Thanks! Tony at Pickguardian is the man! The bass was a looker before the pickguard. Now it looks stunning! I couldn't be more happy.

If anyone wants a custom guard for the 4 string model, contact Tony and tell him you need the same guard that I got. He keeps his templates on file.

I was jamming with some old college buddies this week. My friend has 400w Gallien Kruger and a 2x10 plus 1x15 Hartke aluminum cone stack. This bass is super, super clear and cutting with endless treble if I want it. It is not a booty machine, but the bottom is strong. Going through a full stack, this bass gets much closer to Stingray territory than I thought it would.

The honeymoon is over. The Squier Dimension V is the best budget bass ever made, especially in the under $400 category.

A lot of work - the Dimension necks have a 5 bolt, curved heel. At the very least, I'd imagine you'd need to drill a minimum of one new hole, in reality probably need to do some routing.

Just got mine today through Amazon. Absolutely love it! It took a little bit to get it setup properly but once I did I really enjoyed playing it. I haven't purchased a new bass in ages and haven't played a Squier in even longer so I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the bass. The tone is a little different than I'm used to with my Warwick Corvette Rockbass 5 but I like it. If you play with a pick right over the pickups you get a very aggressive sound that would do well with some distortion. I bought this bass because I wanted a bass with a maple fretboard and something that was a little different from what I had. I'd say mission accomplished, especially for the price!
