Squier Deluxe Dimension Bass (IV & V string)

I know this thread is a bit old but it had a lot of response so maybe I can find out something about this bass. I would really be interested in hearing about experience players have doing a straight DI/Direct Input into an interface and what kind of noise level you got without hearing the added noise of a bass/pa amp. This is how I will be using the bass, going straight into my Focusrite 2i2 if I get it. How clean is it? :cool:

it seems about the same. the yamaha was 9.6lbs and i am pretty sure the dimension is very close to that. the body of the dimension isn't much bigger, but every little bit helps me.

I gigged the Dimension last saturday night and ran it with the Treble and mids all the way down and a slight bass boost. it was punchy and still articulate. i was amazed.

I am contemplating the addition of a three way switch to add the option of parallel/serial/singlecoil switching the humbucker before it goes into the preamp. The stock wiring appears to be parallel. Has anybody done this already and if so, what are the results like, tonewise?

Hey Everyone, been lurking for a while, my first post.

I just bought a Squirer dimension V, it is transparent red with a rosewood fret board. I can't find any others with that combo. Does it exist or is my bass a Frankenstein?

I guess you didn't buy it from a commercial source? Squier did not make them like that. Perhaps the previous owner bought a rosewood neck at Stratosphereparts? Looks nice enough though. Hope you have fun with it.

I just bought tubatodd's TSB Deluxe Dimension IV, and as others have said, I'm impressed with the quality of this instrument. After playing the Fender version of this bass several months ago, I've been GASing for the Squier since. It has such a unique sound, which is what I was wanting since I'm going to string it up with piccolo strings soon. I'll post a review of that experiment later.

Wow, this thread has been going almost 2 years now. Stumbled across a MF stupid deal of the day late last night and pulled the trigger on a black dimension V. I have a Jag SS IV and want to try out a five string. I'm amazed they can make these things so nice for so little bucks. I will post a pic when she shows up. Can't wait....
