Squier/Doom Bassquiers 49: Squiers The Beef?

honestly, all coincidence. I ran 4 sealed Yorkville 115s at one point, and my sealed 810 has just as much low end depth. I never undestood the speed thing though, to me all the cabs I have tried, had the same response speed. by I really don't know what I am listening for there.

too many coincidences start to look like more than a coincidence for me.

speed wise im not sure about that. for slapping/tapping ive found 15s are "looser" for response time, but again, that could be just more bass vs less bass and not the speaker.

but in short, based on your guys comments, in 20 years im expecting to see all of us using the same cab with the same speakers haha

it's like any other product. over the years people have become used to associating tone with speaker size and now there are fans of 15s or 12s or 18s etc. if SWR discontinues their 15 inch cabs, because they can make a cab using 10s sound the same, they will lose customers who will go and buy an Eden 15 inch cab because they truly believe they perfer the sound of 15s.

all sales are pandering. if you don't pander then you won't sell.

Interesting you mention SWR, rumor has it (correctly) that Fender is shutting down SWR and Genz Benz completely.

So if any of you are interested in that stuff keep an eye out for blowout sales.

Incredibly unlikely. This is the exact opposite of what manufacturers would want to happen.

Thats probably more of a dispersion issue. A 15" speaker can be made to reproduce highs, but as you go off axis you loose those highs at some point.

Now that I have that Orange TB1000 on it's way to me, I started looking for a smaller cab to run at home/bring with me to jam with friends and such.

I was looking for something cheap, and then saw that bergantino is releasing a NV115.

Looks like I'll be spending way more than I had hoped, because nothing else is gonna be as sweet as that cab is for me.

crap.

Tone search is over, done, sent to pasture. Oh 370 where have you been all my life???

My .02 on speakers - I like to have 10's in the mix as I use a wah. I found 15s did not articulate the wah tone well. I chalked it up the cone speed, though I'm not sure if that would be correct. All I know is that my ears tell me the 10s work better with a wah.

Sometimes my wife will brew coffee with that caffeinated water stuff.

Maybe give that a shot.

For me that's just begging for an instant migraine but she seems to like it.

If I did that my brain would turn into a space ship and take off for a distant star cluster. My dad told me recently that he knows a guy involved with kart racing, which he and my younger brother have done for a long time, who spikes his coffee with Red Bull.

I couldn't fall asleep until after 3am last night and woke up at 7:30 with a numb face, because my wife turned the heater off when she left for work at 5 and our bedroom is like a meat locker. Now that I have a few cups of coffee in me, I feel more like a human and less like a ghost piloting a meat robot.

Ghost piloting a meat robot... awesome. Reminds me of a quote a friend of mine once told me that life was just nature's way of keeping meat from spoiling. I have a pretty high caffine tolerance from drinking massive amounts of pepsi when I was a kid. Three cups of coffee barely wakes me up. A redbull has zero effect. I try to drink a monster from time to time because I've found anything with guarana seems to pick me up for a while. It really sucks especially since I have sleep apnea and I'm dying to stay awake.

It reminds me of what Laz was saying about having the most creativity in an altered state or when you're tired. If that's true I must be the most creative mofo around.
