I have a Squier vm P, that I bought of someone who branded it as Fender. I'm waiting til I let someone play it, and they talk about how awesome Fenders are.

I think I might gig the Squier soon. Needs new strings and a setup. Next, I'll post gig pics of me playing the Squier. Then, someone can tell me I'll never be Victor Wooten or whatever.

i found a local sale on one these and bluebeard but i cant afford both, the blue beard is 200 and the big spider is gonna be 150, ive seen/heard demos of both and i really like the spider, any thoughts?

Loved the tones I could get from it, but it really didn't jive with my rig in a band setting. Would be a perfect pedal if I wanted to do a drum and bass duo, but I'd get buried by guitars if I used it.

115 will be buried by your 410, it won't make any difference if you add one. either get the same 410 or sell it and get another 410, 215, 810 etc.

yeah im thinking its the better choice as well, ive been on the waiting list for about 2 months and sonny contacted me a few weeks back and said he was pretty booked untill the end of spring. this way i might end up with two which would be tight lol.

Each speaker is a set of designs specs. This is why every speaker sounds different. Every 15" speaker is going to sound a little, or very different. Compare an Ampeg 410HLF to a 410he. They are both 410's from the same company, and they sound very different. That is a result of the specific drivers, and specific cab built around them. Now compare those cabs to the SVT115. The HLF will go a LOT deeper. If the speaker size determined how low a speaker goes, then no 10" based cab could go lower than a 15" based cab. Now look at a cab loaded with K140's. That is a 15" speaker that doesnt have tremendous low end, but it does have a ton of mids.

Driver size does not determine tone.

There are some things that DO correlate to driver size. Efficiency generally does, some times power handling, but that is due to larger motors being put on larger speakers, AND larger speakers having larger displacements than smaller ones.

Quite right. Larger speakers are used for subwoofers because it's more efficient and cost-effective to do so. The main drawback larger speakers have is that they tend to beam the higher frequencies, but for a subwoofer, that doesn't matter, because there are no higher frequencies.

Hence, it makes more sense to use a single 18" or 15" driver purpose-built for low frequencies than it does to try to use a bunch of 6" drivers for the same purpose.
