I'm moving to playing as slow as possible. The goal is to eventually be able to plug in my bass by the time our set is over....that's doom tempo.
I have no idea why I think this is so funny. Maybe I'm working to many hours, but this really cracked me up!
You know, out of all the bands we talk about, there are maybe two or three that I would love to be the bass player of. Not to say I could replace Al, because, well, let's just say I'm not replacing Al. lol. But I would love to be in Sleep. Good god, so heavy!

Test drove the "new" peavey 215 at practice. I completely disappeared in the mix. Sucked. And confusing. How are you guys setting your eqs? I ended up setting my svt 3 mid selector to 1 and diming the mid volume. Then I came through a bit better. A bit.

I know 10s are punchier but dang. Maybe I should look at replacing the speakers?

what are you competing with? what tuning are you in? what kinda music are you playing? how many guitarists? what other instrumentation? what kinda head are you using?
I just figured out how to get the really long voice samples I was talking about. If you switch the zoom to 2 channel mode, it will let you copy onto it and play back files. I am now imagining some new noise stuff going on. Playing against prerecorded voices are great for me, no lyrics...
Fender twin, drums, pa for vox. In E standard. Kinda like desert stoner/folk/rockabilly. One guitar. So far just used my svt 3 pro.
I think it's an 85'. Speakers don't have aluminum comes so I don't think they're black widows. Gonna take them out and look tomorrow but what could they be? Eminence?
May swap them with something newer. May sell these...
I dime my mids and then boost them further with the graphic, which also distorts things more. It is a nasty, awful, ugly tone. However, with everything else going, it sounds cool.
Playing through EV 15" drivers.
When I do play an Ampeg amp, I'll usually dime the gain and then boost the mids a bit, though not as extreme, since their mid control works different than my amp's FMV type EQ.
It does work in the bands I've been in (I don't EQ as extremely with my folk band), but I dunno, depends on what the guitarist situation for you is.
If it's a 215D, shouldn't it have black widows? Maybe the speakers that are in it don't like that box?
How's your gain set on your amp? I've heard that the 3 pro in particular needs the gain set higher than one might otherwise prefer (with the little light pretty much lighting up every note) to really shine. It's not so much a clip light as "you now have enough gain" light.
Don't think it's a 215D. Not very deep. Guess I'll find out tomorrow what speakers it has when I pull them.
Tried the 3 pro at gain levels from 9 to 2 o'clock. Liked it best around 10 o'clock. Just doesn't punch as well as the 810. Might end up boosting the low mids a bit more with the graphic'
