Squier/Doom Bassquiers 49: Squiers The Beef?

I only play in one band that has a lead singer, and it's the one where all I'm doing is showing up and playing bass, not really doing any of the writing. That singer is the first one I've ever worked with who's a cool, laid back dude.
The other bands I'm in, the instrumentalists also handle the vocals (myself being one of the vocalists in my main doom band and my black metal band, and backing vocals in my folk/rock band).

The first gigging band I was in I sang and played bass. The second I joined as just a singer and it completely killed my desire to EVER do that again. Since then if I sing in a band I'm playing an instrument as well, although I have moved to just singing and back a couple times over the course of some bands. I've never had to deal with any egomaniac lead singers, though I've known a few in other bands, but I was on the receiving end of some insanely frustrating ego trips and power grabs from other band members as a singer.

I want but I am low on squiers.
So uh... just shortened my strap by 6" and all of the sudden my Ric balances way better and is easier to play. I never played with my bass low to look "cool" I just set it there because I thought that's where it felt best. Guess I was wrong. Been playing this way for like a year haha.
I hate to sound like the old man (though in this crowd I kind of am) but it also helps with technique to have it a bit higher.
you're a tall bastard so it probably helps a lot to have it up higher. i have a weird body ratio so i keep it pretty much at my waist.
Yeah, last couple months at practice I've noticed that my Ric can kind of either sit in two different spots in terms of horizontal alignment to my body. That all goes away and feels more comfortable now that I've raised the bass up a little bit.

Maybe in straight doom, but I definitely play some lines in Supervoid that push the limits of my playing, including some parts where I'm playing as fast as physically possible.
And I realize you're mostly joking. Just saying, the way I play in Supervoid technique is definitely important.
For van, anyone have a van of choice?
Been looking at step vans as they seem to fit the bill for what I want. I want to have the back gutted, a couch/TV/console put in and a couple cots next to a mini fridge. I want the band to be able to chill otu while we travel. Would have to modify a few things so that you're in a seat belt of some sort for protection.
All the gear would be in a cargo box towed behind us.
