Very nice!
Absolutely wonderful basses - I've bought three Affinity Jazz V's in the last 3 months.
If owning a Squier is wrong, I don't wanna be right.Squier rules!

Sign me up. My second bass was a used black Squier Affinity J-bass, but I had a financial collapse and had to sell it.
The replacement/upgrade is a sunburst VM Jaguar Special (I will call her 'Sunny'
), should be delivered today. Strings and setup await. And more chrome for such a special lady... chromed brass thumbrest, j-bass bridge cover, and gonna use chrome spray paint on a set of allparts p-bass covers (the plastic bits not the metal cover).
I also thought black and silver witch hat knobs would look good.

also, have you ever felt like an idiot? She has the standard low 'e' string on her because I can't read a guitar tuner. The rest are now flats.
Anyone got a .100 to .105 flatwound floating around?

Hey,guys, i just bought an Age pearl white pickguard for my Squier CV 60P from Dhgate.com seller melody_pickguard
The pickguard cutting is best fit and the screw hole align accurate for Fender/squier Pbass spec. The pickguard material is solid than other pickguard i bought from Ebay, the quality is come close to Fender spec. Lot colour choice.

I own Std Jazz Bass 2005, VM Precision 1971 replica from 2010, VM Precision Std 2011,, Jaguar PJ Special 2012, VM Jazz Bass 2015 and in yesterday VM Precision V (5-string) came from Thomann, Germany. Very reliable basses, and new pickup (Fender Designed) in the latest is really powerful.

Ha, after rehearsal today I finally took a couple pics of my new(ish) VM P-5, so since this thread is up I'll share.
Just put a fresh set of rounds on her and I've got to break those suckers in.

I got it at my GC around Christmas last year. It looks like they had just taken it in. I traded my black Squier PJ for it.
Very nice! I've had two just like it. I even went as far as to give one a little extra routing so I could properly upgrade the pickups. (Damn identically-sized pickup slots!

Ugh…you betcha!
Here's some pics of the routing work I had done on mine. I asked my local GC guitar tech…one of the great ones…if he could "give the bridge pup slot a haircut" so I could install a proper neck/bridge pickup set. Using a bridge pup routing template and a little finagling, he managed to pull it off quite well.
Long story short…there are a number of little ways the Standard Series drifted away from the basic Fender "footprint". If one isn't interested in modding, one may never discover any of them. But for tinkerers like myself, it's headache after headache.
I've had this Squier Mike Dirnt Signature '51 P reissue (the white/red tort) for about 6 months, just recently picked up the black Matt Freeman Signature off the local Craigslist for $175. Love 'em both, they play/sound great, and they're both getting gigged regularly in rotation with my Thunderbirds and Stingray (I always take two basses to each gig and switch from set to set). Didn't have anything Fender-ish in the flock until I got these, very happy with both especially considering I've got less than $500 in the pair. I did upgrade the bridge on the Dirnt to a Hipshot Kickass (huge improvement over the stock bent metal bridge), the Freeman is stock and is just fine as is. Not really a fan of signature basses per se, it just kinda worked out that way. Are we still passing out memberships here?
To my eyes, it looks like a parts-bass. Specifically, it looks like someone combined a either Classic Vibe or Vintage Modified '70s Jazz body, a Vintage Modified '77 Jazz neck and threw on a set of cream-colored pickup covers.
One way you can tell if it's a CV or VM body is by looking under the pickguard. If there are a pair of extra holes for a thumb rest under the strings, it's a CV body. If there are no extra holes, it's a VM body with a CV hi-mass bridge added later. And since a pic or two is worth a thousand words…
