Yup CV with VM neckTo my eyes, it looks like a parts-bass. Specifically, it looks like someone combined a either Classic Vibe or Vintage Modified '70s Jazz body, a Vintage Modified '77 Jazz neck and threw on a set of cream-colored pickup covers.
One way you can tell if it's a CV or VM body is by looking under the pickguard. If there are a pair of extra holes for a thumb rest under the strings, it's a CV body. If there are no extra holes, it's a VM body with a CV hi-mass bridge added later. And since a pic or two is worth a thousand words…

Heres one pic more later. Guess im a member now. Loved this combo the looks of it and just happened to find this. Gotta say a few weeks ago i played some Americans and this feels as good as them. Very comfy gonna run it at practice tonite only mod i may make is new pups. Cool find and saved me money having to build this. Now I have one in the Arsenal. One more Modded Subray and CV Telecaster and im down. Well maybe a affinity pj just for kicks
Got this 2016 VM 70's for Christmas from my wife. I was a little put off by the knot on the upper horn, but it makes it unique I guess. I absolutely love this bass, it plays awesome and the tone is quite superb. Not wanting a bass like everybody else prompted me to change out the pick guard and control plate. Up next is a black Kickass bridge and maybe some black Hipshot HB1 tuners.
Looks good. The new pick guard really changes the look of the whole bass.

Here's my Affinity P, replaced the 1 ply white PG with the 3 ply red tortoise, changed the pickup to a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound, installed a rosewood thumb rest and strung with La Bella tapewounds. Replaced the pots with CTS and a Switchcraft output jack.
Have slightly more than $200 into it (including gigbag) and it plays and sounds like much higher dollar instrument.

Hey can I hang out here?. My 1999 Indonesian Squier P/J has been upgraded....again. Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder splits, Epiphone Thunderbird neck pickup in the bridge position replacing the jazz, 500k pots with Sprague Orange Tone Capacitor and D'Adario heavy gauge nickel wound 55-130 strings.

Thanks Dude do I get a number?, It actually took me a while to find this place, lots of quiet and dead end threads and clubs. I thought a Squier Club would be overflowing past max capacity........ as it should be.......right?.
