Squier Owners Club

Hey, count me in (and give me a number)! I just picked up a Squier Affinity P-Bass yesterday from some guy who auctioned it off on eBay. Got it for a really good price. I played it at Church for the first time this morning and it's an excellent bass, as a matter of fact I feel that I got much more than my money's worth on this deal. The electronics work just fine, action and intonation are right on the money, and it's got tons of thump. Don't care for the knobs, though, there's no indication of where your volume or tone is, so I'm thinking of cutting a small line on top with a Dremel and paintfilling it. Overall a killer bass for what I do, which is play in our local Catholic Church's Folk Group. And if I ever have to audition for a major act then I'll upgrade, but until then this will do just fine.:)

I'll take a number! Just got my white DJAV a couple days ago, and I love it. Here it is with the initial template for a custom pickguard (which will eventually be brown-tort). [sorry for quality of pics, right now all Ive got is a camera phone]

The headstock is quite yellowed, so I am going to take off the finish, and unfortunatly the logo; anyone know where I can get a Squier jazz bass decal?

My first post here - - hopefully not my last.

Here's a couple of pics of my Squier p-bass. Solid as a rock, gigs just fine.
I know Squier takes some hard knocks but this one is as good as any other I have or have had.
Sure it's no boutique bass, but for a basic bass, it's a good basic bass.

The only mod is the Gotoh 201 bridge.
(and the headstock decal.. :) )

I am getting one tomorrow. :) It is a 5-string and the price was RIGHT. $150 with the case - and it's in pristene condition. That said, I know NOTHING :help: about this series, or these basses. I noticed someone had some pictures - please comment - I believe I am getting a good deal based on the price alone - but maybe a better deal because of the bass being underrated? Undervalued? Or is it Overrat? Overval? Well not at $150, but you get my drift.

In essence, how are these basses?

This one I believe is from 1996-97, red, gold hardware - necks seems to be as wide as the landing strip at LAX. That'll take some getting used to!

You're probably right, but I use this one for my brighter bass tones. For the old school tones, I usually go for my Reverends or Dark Star P bass. :cool:

Count me in, I think. I looked thru the thread at mostly the pics. I only saw two or three with the same decal on the headstock. Mine says Fender Jazz Bass MIM. On the end it says squire series. What is it about these. Not too many pics on here about them.

I love mine so far. Only had it for a few hours. Looking forward to some loud fun tomorrow.
