1987 Squier Japan Jazz. It has a Warmoth neck, and the original neck has een defretted. I am thinking of getting the original neck refretted, and sticking with that one. Then finding another body for the Warmoth neck...

Wow, I am tremendously backlogged on numbers in here. My past attempts to get numbers out have been unsuccesful, which I take full blame for. For everyones sake here I will get this thing updated in the next 24 hours and then stay on top of it like I should have.

Oddly enough, I thought one of the best changes aesthetically was just replacing the pickguard screws with black ones. :)

I just bought this VM 70's Jazz from musikelectronics a couple of weeks ago & WOW! I haven't played a vintage jazz neck since my '76 that got stolen many years ago.

I've got a MIA Jazz deluxe 5er so I had forgotten what a 4 string Jazz neck felt like. You can go wild on this thing & not miss a lick. It just feels great. It nails the classic Jazz tone with the duncan designed pups.

Unlike some of these basses I've seen, the body wood actually meets in the middle & while it's not grain matched, IMO it really helps the looks versus off to one side or even 3 pieces.

Oh, and the finish is wonderful on both the body and neck. No alignment issues or neck glitches. I can't say enough good about this bass especially at it's price point. The ONLY thing I plan to change about it is to change to CTS 250k pots & possibly the wiring. It's got those really sluggish pots & I'm sure they are 500k although I haven't looked.

I'm sure there are probably consistency issues with the Squier line of instruments, but I think I got one of the ones they made on Tuesday (not Monday or Friday, LOL).

Well, there's my review. If your on the fence about one of these, IMO you should go ahead & pull the trigger. This will be the bass I jam with more often than not! :bassist:
