Squier Owners Club

Ok, I'm in! Give me a number! Here is my Classic Vibe 50's P-Bass. I love this bass.....the best $254 I've ever spent! I got it just as a knock around bass for home, and to practice on. But I've taken it to a few gigs and it performed wonderfully! The only thing it need was the bell cover over the pickup. Now I have a good spot to anchor my thumb (instead of on the pickup).

Damn Glad you're here!!:hyper:

As to numbers, read post #974.....

Ok -
Count Me In.
My first bass ever in 82 was an old Bullet from Squier. (Wish I still had it). I have a buddy that is a music store manager. Any time a squier bass comes in, he calls me. I have played literally thousands of them. Most are decent basses, some are kinda crappy, but when I find one that feels special, I buy it.

MB-4 and 2 MB-5ers

They all get new Gotoh bridges. The two P bass specials have new pickguards and the Sunburst has all new hardware in gold. (Gotoh Bridge and Schaller Tuners)

I didn't start out to be. It's just that these basses all play really well and the most I have paid for any single one of them is 120.00 and that was a 5 string delivered from a fellow TBer. (i took a chance on that one cuz it was beautiful, needed a set up to fit my tastes, but it plays like butta now.)

I think I gave around 75.00 bucks each for the 2 p-bass specials and 60.00 for the MB-4.
What's a guy to do??? you gotta buy em and love em for those prices

Got a squier here, 93 korean made
Its my second bass, first real one, my first bass was a musicman copy

Hold on to that baby! It actually says Fender on the headstock! By right, it's actually a Fender. Very first time I ever saw one of those! Very rare I guess. Definitely a keeper!

Any truth to this? I have a MIM jazz that has the all black Fender logo. They say Squier series at the end of the headstock. What is the difference?

From what I know, the Fender basses which are labelled "Squier series" were the earlier Squier basses, and were Made In Japan. I have heard that these basses are well built (more so than today's Squiers), and are sought after as affordable, quality basses. I'm not sure how rare they are, but I don't usually see many of them around. Fellow TBers, you're free to chime in and correct me or add on to what I've said. :smug:

I liked the tone and playability of my first one (the blue one) enough, that I bought a second one (cherry burst)

I've heard people rip 'em and I'm sure there may be some bad ones out there because squier can make a few turds, but I enjoy mine.

There is a Squier MB 4 that someone has that I still think I was stupid for not buying! It was one of those basses where you just can't put it down. Well, I did. Now someone has a bass I should have.....

MB 4's are great basses! I am still stunned I don't have one....
