See below the pics for mine. Just received mine today. Initial thoughts................very nice bass for the money. Very playable and the string spacing is a non issue. I have not weighed it but if its 10lbs...its a solid 10lbs! Bridge and tuners are decent. There is actually a separate flip top battery compartment! Nice! Typical crap Fender strings. I will change them for some DR's. The bad.......I feel the pre-amp is lacking high end! This bass is a perfect for modding. It's giggable as is but if you want killer sound, the pre's gotta go and most likely the pups as well. I would love to see a MIA Fender do one of these! Its a beauty to look at! Damn nice bass for $299!

Below are the gratuitous sound clips. One is slightly effected and the other is clean. I used a Zoom 506II as a bridge into my laptop.

congratulations on your bass. just wondering do you have a 1/4 connection in your computer (or did you buy an adaptor). I only have a odb-3 but might buy an EFX pedal soon but im just wondering because i also really want to play/record thru the computer. thx

Count me in - here's my Squier Precision Bass Special. It's been upgraded with Quarter Pounder pickups and a Badass II bridge and currently has flatwounds on it. The finish comes across as rather red in this pic for some reason, the burst is more nicer in real life. I'm planning to put a black or black pearloid scratchplate on it as I'm not really keen on the one on it, other than that I'm really happy with this bass.

Dumb question here, but does anyone know of sites that can ship Squiers to Canada? I haven't seen any of the models I'd like at all in stores

Go to axemusic.com. They can't list them on their site but if you call them they can hook you up. You have to call as they suck at answering emails. With the exception of answering emails their service is quite good.

Wish i had a camera, but i have a sleek, black Squire P-Bass with a Black pickguard (i would say it has a white outline i think). Some Seymour Antiquity 60's pick-ups, new (replaced) electronics and i'm thinking of gettign a hipshot brass gridge next time i get lessons. (surprisinly i sounded very good out of the box, with a decent set-up of course, me teacher commented that it sounded better then the wall model Fender custom-shop P-bass (Butterscotch Blonde) after he had the in-store luthier set it up with all his tools (my teacher didn't have any allen wrenches ect on hand). Maybe the Fender custom was a lemon, it was on sale for cheap.
