Squier Owners Club

I thoroughly enjoy the Duncan Designed pup, though after replacing the pickguard my tone knobs is scratchy. Do you think I just pulled a connection loose? Simple resolder job?

And I really like the looks of yours.. The black pickguard is pretty killer.

I have tried out an Affinity P couple of weeks ago and I was pretty surprised because I entered the store expecting something like.. well, crap. I was terribly wrong. Now since I'm planning to buy one of these, I would like to hear some comments from the owners? And also, I have checked out the Fender site and it says the standart Squier P has agathis body and the Affinity has alder. If that's the case, I would pick Affinity over standart any day. Any thoughts?

Agathis, Poplar and basswood are fine body woods. Alder has a "name", but I have a MIJ Squire that's Basswood and a MIM Fender that's poplar, and I prefer them to any of the Affinity's I've played.

I've personally never been impressed with Affinity Squire's. I had one, and it was around just long enough for me to sell it. I feel that the hardware, tone and build quality is less than the standard and significantly less than the VM and VJ series. Of course YMMV...

The Duncan Designed pickup is very good, although I think it could bite a bit more, and that's what I look for in a Precision :)

I think you could replace the pots anyway with CTS pots, then your problem is solved:p

My Squier Vintage Modified Jazz :)

I think the sun makes it looks really cool

I need to take some pics, but I'm in with a Squire VM Jazz. Stock so far except for Black Beauty strings. I'm sitting on the fence as to whether or not to get some better pickups. BUT, after I raised the stock ones up it sounds great! I went to buy my first bass with 2K in pocket and looked around a lot. Came home with the Squire!
