Can I get in on this party please?? Seriously getting my Deluxe Active Jazz was the best thing to happen to me in a while....the music just flows from the fingers now instead of feeling "forced"

pardon my ignorance,but is it fretless?? i looked around a few places to see,but they just don't tell anything about the neck/fretboard.
I think thats the new 4 string version of the old 5 string Squier Deluxe Active Jazz bass, not a fretted version of the Squier Fretless. Notice the four knobs, and slap switch.
I've got a Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazz that is awesome. To make matters even better, there is a Squier VM Precision in the hands of UPS that has my name on it. I bought it used on eBay and it comes with four different pickguards and one of them is almost exactly what I would have purchased regardless. It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks like a nice, dark tort. The price was great and I can sell off the remaining pickguards to get some of that money back.
I'm really wanting to swap the neck for one from a Squier Classic Vibe 60s Jazz or Precision. Olympic White and tort looks very nice with a vintage tinted neck.
If anyone wants to sell their neck or trade for my Squier VM Precion neck, let me know!

I just set up my Squier after about 2 weeks of playing it straight from the yard sale.
It took me 2 full turns to get it to a decently flat spot (not overwound, its not unsafely set), and I adjusted the bridge.
Perfection. Plays like a dream now.
If I ever get famous, Ill gladly endorse Squier, especially of my Squier's level.

I got this Squier Classic Vibe 50's Precision bass about a month ago. I didn't post a review or anything because not too long after I got it, I wanted to modify it! Well, after looking at what other folks did to theirs, I went ahead with my own mods. Since I've been playing it for a month, I've had some time to bond with it.
New Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickup, all new full size pots, "orange" cap, wiring and jack, and copper shielding for all the cavities. (That was fun! Never did it before.) Also, I changed the Tele style input jack to a football plate so I could use my right angle plugs in it. Needless to say, the new pickup really THUNDERS! I thought the stock pup was OK, but the difference is like night and day. Much more clarity and range from high to low.
Next, I decided to alter its appearance slightly. Because it's Lake Placid Blue in color, I decided to use my 1965 Jaguar as a guide to changing the pickguard and knobs and make them oddball twins of a sort. The white pickguard is replaced with a three ply parchment/black/parchment one, and a set of replacement Jaguar knobs completes the look. I think it turned out pretty good. Not a match, but definitely better than the cheap looking stock appearance. I may refinish the anemic looking neck at some point to make it more "vintage" looking, but that seems like too much work right now, and I want to PLAY it!

I have two Squier basses. First up, a completely stock VM Fretless Jazz. I've had it for 2 weeks, and playing fretless again is pretty awesome.
Second, my recently upgraded Squier Bullet. It's more of a Frankenbass than a Bullet now. It's the original 1984 Fuji-Gen Bullet neck, with a Squier P-Bass Special body, a 62 RI pickguard, and a Badass II. The electronics were upgraded from the awful 500K mini pots to full size 250K pots and an orange drop capacitor. You'd be surprised at how much less noisy is after these upgrades. I tune it D-G-C-F, and use it as my low D bass.

But I get an awesome, modded practically new CV for well less than new and slightly more than the average used....and a spare set of pups to boot! And a Fender gigbag!

Seems that i'm a lucky guy in the case of my VM JAzz.
Those things just raised in price here in germany about 3 weeks after I got mine.
Now they are 20-50 more.
What about the US? Same thing?

I think I noticed a price increase too, but I may be talking out my butt.
Well, my MIA Fender came today and took one spot over my Squier, but I wont lie, the Squier still holds its own. I need to get it setup with flats, but even with my own crappy setup it still feels niiice.
I love it, its a keeper.
