Does anyone have any recommendations on where I could get a new pickguard for the VM Precision 5-string I just picked up? It's new from Sweetwater so I'm going to assume it's a 2015/2016 model.
It came with a white 3-ply guard, but I'd prefer it to be black if I can find one.
Sharpie on on the white stripe.....
There is no perfect fit so you can go to Pickguard Heaven or others and send a tracing.Does anyone have any recommendations on where I could get a new pickguard for the VM Precision 5-string I just picked up? It's new from Sweetwater so I'm going to assume it's a 2015/2016 model.

For my 4 string I just got a really nice one from ChI na on eBay for $11 and with a tiny bit of filing it fit great. I had to make a few new holes for screws. A few lined up though. Whatever, I'm not worried about extra hole in a bass I paid $200 for... I don't know if they sell 5 string pgs on eBay from China though.
D'oh! I was thinking VM Jazz....I don't think a sharpie on the white stripe will make the entire face of the of the pickguard black....
I also got one for my CV 60s P which was a perfect fit screws and all. So it seems CVs are exact Fender patterns.Awesome, Thanks! I'll poke around later tonight.
I remember a while back a few people had issues with one of those "pickguard companies", I forget who it was though.
Light sanding then spray paint....quicker than a sharpie...D'oh! I was thinking VM Jazz....
Really thick sharpie?
