Squier "Perfect Fit Replacement Parts" Mega thread

I want to talk bridges...

The bridge from the DAJV...is it 18 or 19mm?
I installed one on an Affinity JV a long time ago and the string spacing was dead-on...and the Affinity has 18mm spacing.

Makes me feel that the DAJV bridge is 18mm.
I was reading some older threads about that bass, and many were speculating that it was 19mm judging by the nut width (2.02"). Has anyone actually measured?
I don't have this bass anymore, so I can't...

Reason I am asking, is that I want to replace the 18mm bridge on my VMJV with something heavier. I thought I could get away with a 19mm bridge, but it puts the strings too close to the edges of the fretboard....no dice. Finding an 18mm bridge is actually pretty tough unless you go for a Hipshot (=$$$).

Also, thinking about necks...
The Affinity JV neck width at the 20th fret is 2-13/16" (2.8125"). Has anyone tried to fit a Warmoth MIM JV neck (2.865") onto a Squier body? How accurate are these numbers?
If the neck would fit well enough, this could be the answer to my finding a Fretless JV....if you know what I mean...

Does anyone have any recommendations on where I could get a new pickguard for the VM Precision 5-string I just picked up? It's new from Sweetwater so I'm going to assume it's a 2015/2016 model.

It came with a white 3-ply guard, but I'd prefer it to be black if I can find one.
There is no perfect fit so you can go to Pickguard Heaven or others and send a tracing.

For my 4 string I just got a really nice one from ChI na on eBay for $11 and with a tiny bit of filing it fit great. I had to make a few new holes for screws. A few lined up though. Whatever, I'm not worried about extra hole in a bass I paid $200 for... I don't know if they sell 5 string pgs on eBay from China though.

Awesome, Thanks! I'll poke around later tonight.

I remember a while back a few people had issues with one of those "pickguard companies", I forget who it was though.

I also got one for my CV 60s P which was a perfect fit screws and all. So it seems CVs are exact Fender patterns.

I fail to see what kind of "issue" you could have with a flat piece of plastic.

Edit: well the cavity route is just barely covered by the pg on the CV but you can't tell from 6" away.

Sharpie on on the white stripe.....

I don't think a sharpie on the white stripe will make the entire face of the of the pickguard black....

I think he might be talking about the process I did to these two black/white/black guards. T'was quite easy and yielded excellent results, I must say! :smug:
