Can’t wait for the sound samples, I’ll probably get the 5, or wait for more colour options. If the preamp is nice I’ll keep it passive, if not I have an audere

I just caught wind of this new 6 string bass! I hope they sell well. I would love to see sixers become a more regular offering from Squier/Fender.
I bought one Thursday. First 6er I've owned but doesn't seem as unwieldly as some Fender 5s I've played or Ibanez 6s. The neck looks like a cricket bat but is surprisingly comfortable when you play it.
It also has a sparkle finish which was a bit of a surprise.

As far as sound it just sounds like a jazz bass to me but I've been running it through my practice amp.

My incredibly scientific method of weighing myself holding and not holding the bass says it is 9.8 lbs.

The headstock makes me think of Jimmy Durante. I think if I get one, there might be some rhinoplasty.
It looks better in pictures than it does on the websites but I do wish they'd give us more color options, it'd be nice to have 6 strings available in colors other than natural or black at a decent price

To me, going all monochromatic makes sense. They're already going quite a bit out on a limb with a sixer, so hedging their bets on a popular color...in this case, with a sparkly twist...sounds like a reasonable business decision. If it's a successful seller, they might release more colors in the future. (I wouldn't be surprised if someone there also wants to avoid the massive overreach they pulled with the Fender Dimension Bass.)
