Squier vintage modified club, part 2

I only have experience on DD jazz pup.
Since the Tonerider p pup are cheap in price, it worth to try.

I don't have a problem with the sound of the DDs though, so I don't think I'll bother upgrading. Thanks for the input though, the Toneriders sound like a good option if things change

Here's my new(ish) Vintage Modified (modified) Precision - Amber
- upgraded electronics
- upgraded p/up (unknown type, bought this way)
- tort or torts pick guard avec tug bar!
- wrapped with D'Addario Chromes

I'm awaiting some tuner bushings (managed to end up with the wrong ones and already sold the old set!) then I'll post a pic of my modded Olympic White VM P.

Your white w/rosewood + tort looks like a stunner! Can't wait to see a better pict (other that your profile). I was keepin' an eye out for a P for a while, a white one was at the top of the list but this amber one came up and I couldn't resist! I typically prefer rosewood fingerboards but the maple on my new P works pretty damn good!

I generally prefer rosewood too, but natural/maple is a really cool 70s look. Despite my promise not to buy any basses, I am currently on the lookout for a VM '77 Jazz - the black one with maple fretboard and pearl inlays...

I’m here for ya buddy! I got curious and checked reverb and this came up second on the listings when I did a search. It’s in Italy , too!

Thanks man. A bit more than I was hoping to spend, but I guess the prices are likely to be higher now it's an out of production (and by all accounts highly regarded) bass.

I'll see if I can find one more local, shipping from continental Europe is always going to be higher.

Unfortunately, not much here. My go-to place is Guitar Center in North Olmsted and online options. The staff is really good there and they’re well stocked with everything bass related including bass’s. I’d estimate they have about 50-60 new bass’s in stock and usually a half dozen used bass’s at any time. Also, there’re about a half dozen acoustics bass’s in that room’s section.

PM me anytime if you want me to go check out something in their stock that you’re not sure about. I always love an excuse to stop in there

There’s a place called Guitar Riot that has a rotating stock of slim (very slim) pickings but always very nice (Nash, Reverend, Fender Custom Shop, etc) stuff. It’s more of a skinny stringers’ mecca.

So no, not much down here for instrument hunting. Now, if you are looking for museums, food and drink establishments and live music venues I can recommend enough to fill your whole itinerary!

The VM77 (blk and SB colour )is the coolest look VM J bass that Squier make. And she stock pup has pretty nice growL and meaty tone .

I try to get the stock VM77J(sold a months ago ) pup back since the owner looking on Dmarzio ultra J for replace.
If possible, that pup will replace my current VM J std pup.

I swear they must haves made only a small amount of VM Amber Precisions. I don't think I've ever seen one in person and only a handful online. There must be a thousand of the VM Jazz basses for each one of the Precisions.

I think they might be back again sometime in the future. Fender/Squier has a habit of doing that.

Satin neck, better build and yeah, love rosewood boards! With the mods, strings and strap, it still only weighs 7.5lbs.

A keeper for sure.

I just check ebay and his site, no more bass pickup.
Don't worry, go with Tonerider TRB1 . Before Fralin and Pribora, I use Tonerider after Fender PV63 and Aguilar 4P60. Tonerider has pretty close tone to smooth-bloomy Aggie 4p60 but better mid present. Work well with .1uf cap and Aggie like tone at 70% tone value.
