Stage 81: S/D thread

Weird, not coming up on "T-40" searches.
Edit: got it now.

I like the blade pickups. I think that designates a later T-40, no?

You should meet up with Ron. Play through a Dually and a '66... Then you might have some GAS. :bassist:

Man, I do not need more GAS. I just got cured after a two-year bout. I should roll over for a BR gig some time, though. Chicago's about a 3.5 hour drive for me, nothing too difficult.

Your correct Pelham, the blade pickups are later and, "brighter"sounding.
The toasters are from the first 3-4 years and "darker".
Looks like it has the steel nut too.

Do I have that backwards Ampeg?

Blade means early, blacked out is later. Some say the blades sound better, others say it's purely cosmetic.

updating earlier when you posted about the Morley PWB, turns out my light bulb is just crapping out and i could never see it. all the internal light blocking stuff is just fine, so i gotta go buy some bulbs. do you remember off the top of your head what they take? i can google it but if you know let me know.

Waiting for Larry Hartke to call me back regarding the service call message I left on his personal cell phone.

Thats so weird.

That is strange, but also really awesome. Hopefully it's just a quick fix and you'll be back up and running before too long.

Hartke stuff isn't very exciting or sexy, but it sounds good, is reliable (for the most part), and when something does go wrong they take care of you. A lot of other companies could learn something from Larry and his crew.

I wonder how busy that guys phone is.

Wouldn't it be funny if he turns out to be a talker, man he just won't stop calling me...

Lol, and he just might be a talker, to go for such a policy. I can't imagine an anti social dick opting for 1 on 1 chats with every doofus with his amp (not that they all are).

Anyone here tell me the major differences between a dually and bassic. I know I'll probably get the dually cause I can, but still if a bassic got 90% of the way there, I might be persuaded. I'm mainly interested in loud/headroom differences, I imagine tonally they'd be pretty even.

I love that show, and anyone I introduce it to just kinda looks at me like that sounds silly, then couch lock until they see them all.
