Stage 81: S/D thread

Morning gents,

Too much catch up from the weekend and yesterday. Ran sound for a buddies band friday and saturday night, ended up playing bass on a couple of songs with them, and actually sang a few too. Cut a demo with band B (named still forthcoming) saturday morning, and had practice with band A sunday. Picked up a gig this coming saturday. Someone backed out and they were in a bind. Had all day training yesterday, and now my brain feels like mush.

Morning Gents!
Ron good call on the Hall of Fame, was watching video reviews last night, sweet pedal, that Trinity Proguitarshop version seems pretty sweet too, and the Nova Reverb. Even my girlfriend who hates pedal review videos was all oh that sounds good why do you have all those other pedals and not one of them, lol. My girlfriend said for me to write down a Christmas wish list, so a TC Reverb and the Jamman Solo XT are getting jotted down!
Peavey you are a busy man!
Oh and if anyone wants a 51 p bass body with a single coil p bass pickup route in the usual spot and a EMG route neck pickup the guy building my body, has one available and probably cheap too as the guy I traded my Avatar for power amp with the Type O Negative Ric had a pickup there and my pickup was there and guess which one the builder grabbed by accident lol. So he had to make me a new body which will ship next week, but thought I would let people now since someone here may dig that pickup combo, maybe?

Which EMG, the 40dc size? How far from neck pocket?

I may be interested also, as long as it can be covered up with the 51 guard :). Keep me in the loop

He build it without worry for a pickguard because I didn't want a pickguard, and he is using a telecaster guitar control plate route also instead of the traditional control plate to have a three way switch, so I'm not sure if you can get the pickguard on there. I will post pics when I get them.

Sams, I've only got the HOF Mini but so far I'm digging it. I tend not to like 1590A pedals since I'm pretty clumsy in a live setting, so I may switch to th full version down the line if I end up keeping it on my bongripper board. So far I've had a lot of fun with the setting that Jonsi from Sigur Ros made. Super extreme long tail with weird modulation and other things going on....totally up my alley.

I saw the video of the guy from TC recording Jonsi for the toneprint, pretty cool, had the bow going on that funky Les Paul and his rig.
The Trinity seems pretty wild as it has all the Hall of Fame settings, the tone print, and the Proguitarshop guy's settings.

Super creepy and clearly not sober... I finally have the words to describe my aspirations.

Having only heard of pentagram via such hawks and bobbies doc. I don't see how they're that special and the attention doesn't seem to make Bobbie better. Crack addled brat would be my description of him.

Also they never would have gotten famous anyways, their original drummer looks incredibly weird and wears way too tight clothing for his girth. He looks like Andre the giants sister here.

pentagram is probably the most overrated band in this genre. nobody cared about them for 30+ years, and all the sudden theyre a big deal headlining festivals.

they had a guy playing drums for them who was in my buddy's local band, i was told that leibling and the guitarist are the two biggest psychos on the planet, and complete musical retards lol.

Hitting the highway to Chicago later today. I'll swing by Chicago Music Exchange if I have some extra time. Oddly enough, I'm not really GASing over anything right now, so I could end up with something random. I guess I'm kinda interested in a Epi Firebird to go with my Thunderbird, in Pelham, of course. :p

Seems like Pentagram had 2 really good albums: Self-titled/Relentless (1985) and the first First Daze Here collection. Those two are killer, and Relentless was influential in the doom community.

I've collected nearly all of their other albums and they are all pretty ******.

I saw them 2009, and it was pretty good. Gary Isom was on drums. We posed for a photo with Bobby and he grabbed my wife's ass (she wasn't my wife and was dating someone else at the time). Super nasty, creepy dude. When he's got his **** together he's a great front man. Unfortunately that's almost never the case.

You should meet up with Ron. Play through a Dually and a '66... Then you might have some GAS. :bassist:

Looks like it's still on the site.
