Same here but I’m cautiously optimistic.
I been hurt too many times to maintain hope. I remember the joy I felt when Generations happened. Then the heartache. Then the same emotional rollercoaster for three more TNG movies. JJ trek broke my soul. Then Discovery stomped on me while I was down. They can't hurt me any more. They'll try. I just have to stay strong.

This might be what it takes to get me to sign up for CBS All Access.

I feel the same way. Next to the original series, I like the Picard character and series the very best. The man has incredible gravitas.

I'm not a big Star Trek devotee, I just like it. However, as an official old fart, I have a major problem with paying for programs coming from the broadcast networks, whether it's CBS (my favorite network) or their online division.

I'm still on the fence. If I wait long enough, it will probably be available free.

Stewart has already said it will have a heavy emphasis on current year politics. So expect more of ST: D but this time character assassination on an old favorite. Outdated before it even premieres.

It makes me wonder how much, if any creative control he had during the show. Because I know he was involved with decisions made in the movies and the movies are filled with decisions that Jean Luc Picard would never make.

That dune buggy scene continues to bug you! ;)
To no end, but this Picard 2.0 person was making non Picard decisions in Generations too, and First Contact, and Insurrection, and then that god damn dune buggy. It's like taking a helicopter to traverse a large, treacherous jungle, and then walking in with a skateboard you brought in the helicopter, because the actor playing the character is really into skateboards.
