Star Trek: Picard

Bring in Shatner for an episode. Ratings through the roof.
But he's dead and buried under some rocks on Veridian 3, after he was missing for a hundred years. Yup. Let's not maybe put his body in a photon torpedo tube and shoot him out into the vastness of space like we do for other Starfleet officers. No, lets just put some rocks on him. But they could bring him back some way. Screw integrity and strong story telling and standing on their own. Nostalgia folks. Nostalgia sells.

I've been going through the DS9 episodes. To me that's the best. The only series where the characters actual had story arches.
It's the one I watch the most. It was so good. Broad enough to stay interesting but not out of control. You understood where everyone was and their motivation and what was going on. Giant space battles meant something because they took time to lead up to it. ST Picard is gonna have either explosions or drop kicks off ledges or both in the first episode.

I paid the devil his six bucks. I just watched all the recent short trek episodes. They're not good. You should watch the most recent one "Children of Mars" as it seems it relates to the new show. It features an emo version of a Bowie song, cuz we all know how much Star Trek fans love when they add music with lyrics to a score.

I don't care if it's woke or allegorical. I just want good stories. Some good science fiction stories. They're gonna have to establish things with the destruction of Romulus and Picard and B4 and Seven of Nine and Riker and Troi and Hugh and the pitbull and what they're all doing. Fine. That's gonna be at least the first few episodes but please, please just give me some good stories.

Now you’re just pettifogging! :D

I just watched it and I too will watch it again. I’m still cautiously optimistic. This was a much better debut than Discovery.

As a side note, I signed up for CBS All Access via my Apple TV. That’s working fine. My Apple credentials are supposed to get me into the CBS app on other devices but it doesn’t work. Grr.

EDIT: It appears that if you sign up via Apple TV, you still have to create a CBS account in order to watch on other devices.

Planet Risa would be my choice.....;)
Picard doesn't like Risa, though I'd give it a shot. I always wondered about the people there. You display the little statue thing indicating you want sex, and hot girls approach you to oblige. So they're prostitutes? Or just willing to have sex with strangers for free? Two of them went off with Quark when he went there. Is he paying them? Or they're just so much into hospitality that they'll sleep with you to be nice? It's weird.

Not that it’s important, but the vast majority of critic reviews are favorable. I read one negative review just for fun and my impression is the reviewer had an anti-Trek bias from the get-go. A contrarian.

Don’t forget The Ready Room. We’re paying for that too!
