That is a bass I have been looking for for the better part of 20 years. Seen a handful come up for sale, usually some issue with them or price beyond astronomical (one listed on ebay for $36k recently) Still searching...sigh. I guess I will have to be content with my Q5 v2 for now.

From what I understand, only around 50 (black) were produced. Not sure how many of those were fretless (likely less than 10) and/or how many still exist. I’m sure the bulk of them are locked away, and a good number of them are likely in the hands of Japanese collectors.

I have 2 - white '86 XL-2 & '88 XM-2. There's nothing quite like them.
