That was what I thought was probable to.
SDB-1 + customization = SDB-3
That or Thunder Fingers just made a typo.
on the seymour duncan site it's statetd that steve uses a custom spb-1 pickup.
also, if you take a closer look at the magnets you will see that they're smaller than those of the spb-3.
i'm not sure about steve's backup basses. i tried to get a closer look but i'm not sure. juding from the sound, there seems to be a slight difference in my ears. when steve used his chequered p-bass it sounded like a little more output, almost a little distortet. maybe his backup basses have the spb-3's in them i'm not entirely sure.
and also about the headstock: the logo has just worn out. you can clearly see that if you look at pictures from various years.
by the way, the sig bass is only 75% of steve's because it lacks an alder body and the spb-1.

I don't know much, but I know they can play some DAMN GOOD music and put on even better live shows.
(as a former drummer of many years, I know that you CANNOT say Nicko McBrain is a one trick pony)..........

While I don't agree that they are 1 trick ponies but if they are it is one heck of a trick.
This last tour has them bigger and better then ever IMO.
