From what I recall, the switch from ceramic back to alnico occurred around 2008. Had several years of changes right there with the HH models coming out in 2006.
My 30th Anniversary SR5s:
The rosewood bass is the one they had at NAMM when these came out. I'm pretty sure it's also the bass in the Tony Levin demo.

AWESOME!!! I used to have 2 Blueburst with Maple board SR5s. One was a 1989 and the other a 1993. I STUPIDLY sold them both, due to an endorsement I had from 1999 - 2003. 3 years ago, I was very fortunate to find an almost identical Blueburst 1988 SR5, hanging out at a music store 30 miles from me. I tried to pass on it, but got home that evening- Prayed a lot (that no one bought it) and called the store the next morning.

I think the question really is why not?
So I recently acquired an 07' Stingray 4 in black cherryburst in a trade and really liked it, but I am partial to 5 strings. I came across an 08' Stingray 5 in black cherryburst so I sold the 4 banger and bought the 5'ver. I have to say that I really like like the Alnico pickups vs. the ceramic that the 4 string had. It just sounds like there is more meat on the bone. Thicker, fuller tone vs. the anemic scooped, brittle tone of the ceramics. Just my opinion. The bass came with chrome hardware and a white nut but I ended up swapping everything out for black. Not cheap, but the end result was worth it! Cheers!

Strung up my SR5 with some Cobalt Flats. Had some on my P5 and liked them and it was time for a string change so I picked up a new set for the SR5. Really impressed. They go together like peanut butter and chocolate. Fat, punchy with clarity. Sat great in the mix. Really dug the Dunlop Super Bright Nickels but the Cobalt Flats will stay on. Really happy with the tone and the rig. What a time to be alive!

Well... This is happening. I love the sound of my 1988 Stingray 5, and would never touch it. Since my 2004 didn't have the same size "Cajones", I decided to go for something different. This pickup is not even on the EMG website 
I still have to connect the electronics. It's gonna go into an EMG BQS preamp. The push pull volume knob will change the coils from Humbucking to stacked Single Coil.

You say that this bass was made in 2007, so I wanted to mention that the change from ceramic pups to Alnico was made sometime in 2008.
There’s always a chance of overlap in that period, plus you may want to double-check that DOM.
I had 4 pre-2008 SR5s and one 2011 SR5 model. I prefer the ceramic pup models myself, but that 2011 was an awesome bass with a more polite, well-mannered tone. I sold it to help but the Mike Lull bass that is my current go-to instrument. But I’d buy it back in a second. Or someday, anyway...

Where did you get your pickguard from? I've gotten several pick guards from WDMusic, except for the clear pick guard that came on my Mike Lull bass. It's Teal with beautiful woodgrain under the pickguard and I didn't want to cover that up.
I may have mentioned this earlier, but I let that bass go and when I saw it for sale recently, I recognized the pick guard. So I checked on it and all the details add up. Very happy to have it back!

What case is that?
Mine was the stock one from MM. It was a very similar pattern, I'd say almost identical.
It came with the bass--I ordered it from Musician's Friend and had it sent to me in Iraq so I could have something to do on my down time. That was back in Feb. of 2005.

Ahh, that's a ProTek soft-shell case. My Mike Lull came with a ProTek case as OEM and I like that case so much, I bought another one for my Stingray(s). It makes for a lighter load when carrying both basses.
There's been a few Stingrays live in that case. I've considered a case for 2 basses, but I'd have to try it out and see if I could manage the weight of a case with two basses inside.......
Those are really nice-looking pick guards! I've never bought a Stingray with anything but a plain white or plain black pick guard. I've been buying used SR5s since 2012. I've had a 98, a 2000, a 2004, and now this 2005. The 2005 was traded to a music store, then I saw for sale and asked the owner where he bought it. He said it was from that same music store about the time a traded it. So I'm fairly sure it was the one I had. I was keeping serial numbers of the basses that came and went but I can't find one for that. Still, I'm pretty sure...
I'd love to get a hold of my old 'Ray 5. I loved that thing, but had to sell it cover moving costs after getting medically retired from the USMC. The Corps covered most costs, but not our personal vehicle's fuel and staying in hotels as my wife and I moved from NC to CA.
I was playing that bass when we got a rocket attack on our base. Ah, the memories!
