Just EQ and volume (the power amp is pegged; you're controlling the gain). It's a pretty clean amp. Tons of power. Throw a Sansamp or VT Bass or whatever other "tone" pedal in front of it and you can go from clean to filthy quite easily.

I'd definitely recommend it.

I think the EQ is also Fender tone-stack, not boost/cut on those Hartke models. Good stuff, though

Hey Corey, thus Tuesday if things go to plan, I'll be getting a peavey T-max. It's a 300-500 watt 2 space rack head with tube pre, hi lo knobs, and a defeats less 7 band slide EQ. The one I'm getting is $200 not sure what wattage though. Simple, Tubey, rack and small.

I used Peavey bass amps for a long time. From when I started playing until about 8 years ago. My MkIII lasted through hundreds of gigs and practices at full volume. It also survived a few drops down flights of stairs.

by the way what were you using for distortion/fuzz on that?

Chandler 4 knob tube driver -> gk400rb -> mesa 18" -> pr40. My avatar is from that session. I should really find an update pick.

I'm pretty sure I used a pick. I always switch it up but I like to record with a pick so it cuts through better.

What I can't remember is whether or not I had flats.

Remember that one time you and my girlfriend were the only two people at our show, and Fezz and I made fun of you for using a pick? Haha.

Nope. I'll tell you one thing though. There is no one I've ever played with that cared how I made the strings vibrate. To quote pretty much everyone else on TB who isn't in this thread, "as long as there are booties shaking on the dance floor...yada yada...something...pay check...the band leader is happy... Jesus only needed four..."

Oh I feel the same way. Doesn't mean it isn't fun to tease pick players. Matt Freeman uses a pick and he is a god. One of the main reasons I started bass.

I just got to plug in the ratking. My acoustic rig is so loud at 2 that I had to dial down my input a little so at first something was lacking, but then I turned up and whoa. Sounds very versatile and very promising. Have 2 channels for distorted and more distorted setting will be really useful. The feedback loop is just as rad as I hoped. I'm really interested to see what i can do wen I get it inline with the big spider, and gristleizer. Unfortunately I had to call it due to my seasonal (bitchy) neighbors being in town. .... Weekends @ the jersey shore.....

I'm going to 'get ready' to view the free jerry Garcia concert from tristudios.com the sound system in that place is unreal, and live music webcasts are a great idea. Nobody has to drive home.
