So both my main bass and my back up now have severe truss rod issues (broken on the main bass, stripped nut on the backup). With truss rod repair being so expensive and me being so broke, I'm looking into picking up a cheap bass until I can get the others fixed. I can get a stupidly good deal on a Squier Affinity Series J-bass, brand new, full setup by a trusted tech included. Anyone have experience with one of these? The get pretty good reviews, and it would be covered by warranty if there's a problem. Thoughts?
Play what you can afford. We don't judge. My back up is a Squier P. My only issue is that it has a low-ish output. I swapped in new pups and it was still quiet. I just think the crappy body and neck wood rob some of the volume. But it is usable and plays fine.
