stoner/doom bassist thread part 2: suspicious smoke

Hmm. Are you confusing this amp with something else? The YBA300 is a single channel amp. The only thing drastically "different" about it is that is uses 12 power tubes with a very simple-to-use bias method which results in never having to take your amp to a tech for a power tube swap. Also, if it senses a bad pair it will lock out that pair and continue to function. So if you are using it normally and a power tube shorts, that pair is locked out and the amp continues to function at 250w. It is shipped with 6L6s but is advertised that you can swap them for EL34s for a more "aggressive" sound.

Oh, and it weighs like 50 lbs ;)

I am confusing it with the YCS100 Traynor Amps: All Tube Guitar Heads. my bad.

I'll let you know if i get a chance to try it. I assume they are using toroidal transformers to keep the weight down, some say they are great, however i am not sold...yet.

No problem. I figured we were just talking about something else =P As a Canadian you will probably have much more luck finding one in a store than I will. I am a huge fan of Traynor (go here for some awesome and funny information: Invalid Link Removed)

My favorite part: And talk about rugged. To test the strength of his products, Traynor would throw them from the roof of a three-storey building.

``That way I knew for sure,'' he says. ``If it didn't work when the tubes were replaced, we knew there was something wrong. Amps on stage have to be able to fall that far. I made each one that way.

People gave the YBA300 some pretty good feedback in the YBA300 thread, but having someone from "our" genre check it out would definitely be helpful :)

Yeah man. Totally dig the old stuff. Grew up on it. Gotta really look for the new stuff thats good.

its out there, you just gotta look for it like any other genre/sub-genre. I was actually pleasantly surprised with some of Jay-Z's older stuff which I never though I would like. but i finally gave it a chance and there is some good stuff there.

Yeah wasn't sure what you meant by it came in silver. The RB950 I have came in marine burst, cherry sunburst and wine burst. The similar one that had PJ pups I think only came in cherry sunburst. The RB824 came in "crystal pearl".

PS do you guys plan on recording soon? I'd love to have some decent quality recordings of your stuff I really dig it!
