EDIT: F*** it, going for D#G#C#F#C#F#. If I don't like it, I can bring tune up to EAEADG or something.

When my cousin moves home, I am going to convince him to get another 7 or an 8-string so we can play in tunings that low. I know I can convince him to play in F# or F, but maybe after I play a few notes lower, he'll cave in... literally.

I thought Monobrow was pretty brutal too, it took me a while to get used to it.

Props to Electric Machete, I like Billows too but I slightly preferred Old Crow.

Charts and Maps is probably the best name I have heard recently though.

Band names are always tough but in the end nobody really notices, it just becomes it's own thing not really associated with the original meaning of the word(s).

Yeah I definitely dig Monobrow as a band name! But as he said, band names quickly lose their literal definition and are associated with the members and music very quickly. However when there are 5 of you sitting in a circle trying to come up with a name you all agree is good, they all sound dumb :D

Anyone going to Weedeater, Bison BC, Saviours and Fight Amp at Sonar next Wednesday? No way I'm missing that unless I'm dead for some reason.

Im not harshin ya, Im seriously curious. I mean I play in D ( the one right below standard E) and I can notice the little bit of drop off in volume/clarity on an open D... and a band we know that plays in B recorded at our space and used my rig for the recording and they liked it alot, but I kinda thought it got muddy/flubby.

I'm using low F# through amps and cabs I know were never designed with anything that low in mind, for me what I hear is mostly higher harmonics, but what I feel is the fundamental. I've asked some of the resident audio experts on here about this a few times and got two different sides to it. One side saying it's impossible that my speakers are reproducing the fundamental in any way, and another saying that it's possible for the speaker to move at the fundamental frequency, enough so to be felt physically but not really heard which would explain what I experience. Whatever is happening, it sounds and feels like low F# opposed to F# above standard E and I'm happy with the results.

As far as clarity and all that, it's no problem with the right strings.

Yeah we're about to start going through this again! We realized there might be a problem when iTunes pulled up someone else's album art for one of our jam recordings Haha.
