Stoner/Doom bassist thread part 25: Witch Kittens from Candy Mountain

So, I've decided to give Rotosound 77 LEs a try. I like my Chromes, but like I've mentioned before, they're a little loose in C and not that bright. I'm hoping that I can get a little more tension and some brightness out of the 77s. If not, then back to rounds I guess.

Jamming out to that Ufomammut link while I change strings. And then, off to Motorcity Guitars tomorrow to try out some amps. Planning on giving the SVT-7 Pro and the Orange Terror 500 a serious work out.

Do you guys think it would be worth it to bring my own cab, if I'm planning on replacing that within the next year? I'm already planning on bring my own bass (since I doubt they'll have any P's sitting around in C standard).

The 77's will have the tension and the brightness your looking for I think. Love them on my p. if your on a computer Check out my soundcloud and see round vs. flats

Still too early to call it, but the 77s definitely have the tension I was looking for. Working on my intonation now (which was off before anyways). That low C is still a bit off even with the saddle moved most of the way back.
