What exactly do you mean by "farting"? I've never had it happen to me, so I'm kind of curious. I imagine it's the same thing the guys in the Amp forum call "chuffing". My understanding is that its usually caused by improper porting (the holes for air getting sucked in aren't big enough to keep up with the speakers). Could that be part of it?

I had the laptop volume maxed and the Amps pre and post at 12.

It sounded like the intro to heavy friends the rising low end hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It was shaking the house. Did I do it wrong? Or was barefaced posting the wrong frequency for 25Hz?

Maybe I am wrong saying it was farting, but I've never had a Low E sound like that. It was maybe chuffing? It was just broken up sounding and didn't make much bass like it was struggling.

I have read these MBE cabs don't have dampening material and some years had less bracing. Could it be I am hearing the freqeuncies getting chopped up by the undampened walls?

Also I was using the active EQ and had the Low mids boosted the full 15Db if that changes things.

I would set everything flat and just play some hip hop through it. "chuffing" or "farting" is basically pushing the cab below its low end design. I've never heard of new cabs doing it it should just sound tighter with some low end loss. Are you using some extreme eq? Boosting the lows a lot?

askrere...A lot of people have been complaining about how those MBE and NEO cabs don't have adequate bracing and no insulation. That might be the issue, but I would contact GK about it. At least get it on record, in case it's a warranty issue. I'm pretty sure GK added more bracing to the new models (whatever has "II" at the end of it), but still no stuffing. I've played GK amps for a long time and never used GK cabs though.
