Looks like we've got a couple new posters with bands I gotta check out! I'll have to listen later when work slows down.
Funny story. A few years ago I owned a Traynor YBA200. I told it via TB Classifieds to a guy in Pittsburgh when I was living in Baltimore. I was travelling with the holidays so I dropped it off at his house.
Fast forward to the present, I walk into my practice space last night and the YBA200 is sitting there. Not just A YBA200, but THE YBA200 I sold. My guitarist (who also plays bass in a death metal band) plays drums in a punk band with the guy I sold the amp to. He took it off his hands to try noodling with it as a guitar amp. Funny to see things come full circle like that.
Also, no band practice yesterday, but the other guitarist and I went out there to jam and mess with our new gear. I received a bunch of replies to that CL listing I put up, but I didn't bother to get too involved with them as a lot of them cited vocal influences like Godsmack and ****. Probably nice guys but no one on the level I was really looking for.
Then a guy responded who seemed like a real cool dude. Some of his favorite bands are Kyuss, QOTSA, Sleep, etc. We had him come out to meet the two of us last night and he sang some stuff and it went really well. We're bringing him back when we have the full band together to try him out. May have found our singer.

I'm bummed because we didn't have practice last night. I'm bummed because I haven't been listening to much music. I'm bummed because I'm not happy with my gear at the moment. I'm bummed that I'm not in an instrumental power trio. I'm bummed that I need a haircut. I'm bummed that I spent all last weekend painting my house and I don't love the new colors. I'm bummed that...
Well, enough of that. I have a guitar center card burning a hole in my pocket and I'm trying to think of something cool to buy. What's something I should look into (amps, cabs, effects, accessories)? What piece of gear can't you live without that we don't talk about much in this thread?
so my 76 Tbird arrived yesterday and damn does she sound awesome. all that gibson mud that i like with some really nice low mids, not biting enough that they cut like some mids that dont work for the band, but just enough for it to fill out and complement the lows. with the bluebeard it was awesome, and i was really impressed with it on clean. surprisingly, i had a bit of volume drop with this guy too, just like the artist. i wonder if just older basses from the 70s arent as hot as 80s basses cause my grabber and my old mockingbird were hot as hell, yet the artist and the t-bird require a boost in front. either way, im really glad this thing sounds awesome, i was worried it would suck lol.
next up is the ripper, then a victory. but ive got my 3 right now!

How do you guys like Supervoid as a band name?
The Eridanus Supervoid is the largest supervoid (an area of the universe devoid of galaxies) discovered as of 2007. At a diameter of about one billion light years it is much larger than any other known void and represents a challenge for current theories of the origins of the universe to explain. It was discovered by linking a "cold spot" in the cosmic microwave background to an absence of radio galaxies in data of the United States National Radio Astronomy Observatory's Very Large Array Sky Survey. There is some speculation that the void may be due to quantum entanglement between our universe and another.
ANOTHER UNIVERSE!

And yes, to the bottom right corner of the GT200 is an Optimus Prime Mr. Potato Head..Spudimus Prime

Cool stuff, do I hear an organ?
