I have to say I'm in love with the VR. Was impossible to make it sound bad. I took both the Pbass and roadster. Both have chromes. The Bluebeard sounds incredible with it. For the first time in forever I actually turned up the tone knob on both basses and rolled back the treble knob and it sounded incredible.

Placeholding For Later

Hello everybody. I lost track of this discussion in like the 2nd megathread but if anyone knows a drummer near Chicago that needs a band please PM me with contact info....And if anyone wants to weigh in on the songs my band has been working on please do!!!! Small disclaimer the 12 minute song we kinda ****ed up the last minute or so but we left it because we figure if you get that far into the song you already decided you like it.

Thanks everybody!

My band Suncrusher mini-toured with one of the best up and coming stoner metal acts over the weekend.

If you haven't heard of Thorr-Axe do yourself a favor & check them out.

Possibly the most inspiring group of kids I've played with / seen in concert (out of everyone) in my 10 years of heavy touring / gigging.

Very reminiscent of Asbestos Death & HOF but with a more Hardcore Punk approach.

Looks like we've got a couple new posters with bands I gotta check out! I'll have to listen later when work slows down.

Funny story. A few years ago I owned a Traynor YBA200. I told it via TB Classifieds to a guy in Pittsburgh when I was living in Baltimore. I was travelling with the holidays so I dropped it off at his house.

Fast forward to the present, I walk into my practice space last night and the YBA200 is sitting there. Not just A YBA200, but THE YBA200 I sold. My guitarist (who also plays bass in a death metal band) plays drums in a punk band with the guy I sold the amp to. He took it off his hands to try noodling with it as a guitar amp. Funny to see things come full circle like that.

Also, no band practice yesterday, but the other guitarist and I went out there to jam and mess with our new gear. I received a bunch of replies to that CL listing I put up, but I didn't bother to get too involved with them as a lot of them cited vocal influences like Godsmack and ****. Probably nice guys but no one on the level I was really looking for.

Then a guy responded who seemed like a real cool dude. Some of his favorite bands are Kyuss, QOTSA, Sleep, etc. We had him come out to meet the two of us last night and he sang some stuff and it went really well. We're bringing him back when we have the full band together to try him out. May have found our singer.

So, I’m sitting here wishing I had something interesting to post but really I’m just avoiding work at the moment. But to not waste this time in vain I decided just to post whatever I was thinking about…

I’m bummed because we didn’t have practice last night. I’m bummed because I haven’t been listening to much music. I’m bummed because I’m not happy with my gear at the moment. I’m bummed that I’m not in an instrumental power trio. I’m bummed that I need a haircut. I’m bummed that I spent all last weekend painting my house and I don’t love the new colors. I’m bummed that…

Well, enough of that. I have a guitar center card burning a hole in my pocket and I’m trying to think of something cool to buy. What’s something I should look into (amps, cabs, effects, accessories)? What piece of gear can’t you live without that we don’t talk about much in this thread?

If it makes you feel better I broke a bolt off in my black basses neck yesterday when I was installing it. I get to try to dig it out tonight. And my gas list is pretty small, pedal power, guitar rig, maybe another computer interface, and a old man rig cab.

How do you guys like Supervoid as a band name?

The Eridanus Supervoid is the largest supervoid (an area of the universe devoid of galaxies) discovered as of 2007. At a diameter of about one billion light years it is much larger than any other known void and represents a challenge for current theories of the origins of the universe to explain. It was discovered by linking a "cold spot" in the cosmic microwave background to an absence of radio galaxies in data of the United States National Radio Astronomy Observatory's Very Large Array Sky Survey. There is some speculation that the void may be due to quantum entanglement between our universe and another.

ANOTHER UNIVERSE!

so my 76 Tbird arrived yesterday and damn does she sound awesome. all that gibson mud that i like with some really nice low mids, not biting enough that they cut like some mids that dont work for the band, but just enough for it to fill out and complement the lows. with the bluebeard it was awesome, and i was really impressed with it on clean. surprisingly, i had a bit of volume drop with this guy too, just like the artist. i wonder if just older basses from the 70s arent as hot as 80s basses cause my grabber and my old mockingbird were hot as hell, yet the artist and the t-bird require a boost in front. either way, im really glad this thing sounds awesome, i was worried it would suck lol.

next up is the ripper, then a victory. but ive got my 3 right now!

Hot! I love old Gibsons. I had a Gibson phase a few years back.
