I had feared at the gig that it was the speakers, but with the graphic EQ off and Volume 2 turned up to generate the equivalent volume and distortion, the noise was gone, and there's actually more low end when I do it that way (and not as much obnoxious mid as I like), so it wasn't the cab.
Plus yesterday at rehearsal and today for a bit I tried it with my little cab, and it still made the noise, though I was using a different cable. It's definitely the amp.
speaking of circle K, pretty sure their shipping is so ****ing pricey because they ship them straight instead of coiled..

I think our biggest thing is going to be turning down the volume on bass and guitar.

They slightly coil them and put them in a regular USPS priority mail envelope.
Does any other company make custom strings aside from circle k?
Flat rate priority envelope should be around 6 bucks, is that what Circle K charges?
