So while it's not illegal to get it at gas stations, only out of towners do. If I'm paying almost $10 for some craft beer, I want the true alcohol content.

AFAIK it will. That would totally suck though. Keep in mind I mostly buy beer for other people and the thought of serving some weak swill makes me rage :mad:.

conklin makes strings that would work, but i need to email them about where the taper starts on the string.

I'm trying to remember. I think I had been using a lighter gauged (.155 labella) string at the time I had the kramer.

Before switching to the circle k's I was using the .155 labella for my F and then a standard d'addario 5 string set for the other 3 (ditched the D&G strings). The tension wasn't as taught as using a heavier gauged string, but I was getting more "note" and less dull thud with that setup. I only used the Kramer for a few months (maybe 2 or 3 shows) before going back to the bass I had been using, and then getting the RD Artist which I've been using for at least 2 years now.

I'm pretty sure that is what I was using for strings at the time though.

Noticed this on the GGG DIY pedal site
GGG Tuned Version

This is sort of a blend between the Violet Ram's Head version and the Late 70's (3rd) version. More of an overdrive sound to it than the thick fuzz than some versions have.

Note: GGG was involved with building a pedal by Sandford and Sonny called the Blue Beard bass distortion. This "Tuned Version" is somewhat simialr to the Blue Beard, but it is not a Blue Beard. There are some subtle differences in the tone and it is in a smaller box. This is an excellent distortion for bass or guitar or synth, but this project should not be considered a kit for a Blue Beard pedal.

Ohio got rid of the "state stores" years ago. We still don't have sunday liquor sales though. Stores have to buy a extra liquor license to be able to sell beer on Sundays. The best thing is that we have Drive throughs. That is where I primarily buy my beer. I feel bad for states that don't have drive throughs. Hell, I'll pass three quickie marts just to hit a drive through.

Yup, told ya. I've seen Sonny post his 8 paragraph long explanations before about the subject. I've heard the ggg sounds great but if ya want the bluebeard, just go for the bluebeard. Oh, and the Fuzzrocious Grey Stache is the ggg muff with the mids boost and other goodies. I've never messed with one but I know Toast loves his if you want to check that out.

There's a few drive thru's around but not in this area unfortunately. The town I grew up in has one almost right at the center of town. It's pretty cool. Even cooler for me is when we go to the mountaineer casino on the way there's drive thru cigarette shops. Say what you will about smoking it's fun to order boxes like you're ordering a value meal.

Yeah I think I will try out a Bluebeard, or Grey Stache eventually. Did your guitarist make any of the other versions, like the Russian, or Triangle that you liked? I am also looking to tinker with the soldering gun some too, so even if I but a Bluebeard I make tinker with some other kits on the site.

trying to figure out if an .11 scale drop is going to mess me up. i only play in A and i can just not drop that bass for G, but we will see. lemmie check those out.

The discussion we're having sounds exactly what I went through before telling Sonny I wanted on the mailing list. When he finally lets you know it's ready, it's hard to say no lol. Oh, if you decide to tinker with the kits, I highly recomend the tone bypass mod. Sounds easy but I have grown to love the tone bypassed mode of my bluebeard. It just seems like it's missing something when I use the tone knob, way less midrange punch and a little less volume.
