Probably because I bitched about it when it happened! And my former band is just being nice. Why do you think we ended up helping you load out at most of your shows? We didn't want to wait 45 minutes before being able to set up our gear lol.

some just don't get the "fun" factor for the player or the audience.
Out of curiosity, do you guys still go out to the PA system when you bring your big the megawatt amps and speaker cabs?
You guys help move other bands gear? I'll help them get it directly off the stage, but that's it. I don't want someone else touching my stuff either. If they can't handle it, that's their fault. I gig with two ampeg stacks, and I handle it just fine by myself.

With beebassdude's band, yes. Otherwise, the entire crowd is gone before you have a chance to turn on your amp.
Glad you did a 12" split. So sick of bands releasing 7" splits for no real reason and charging full LP prices.
On this OC and I can agree.
If we are lucky there is enough PA for vocals. And those vocal mics are about all we get time to set up.
Other than that both guitar and bass carry the room.

We did that one solo 7" with two 5 minute tracks, it was fun. But we really are better with 10+ minute songs.
Our track is about 10-ish minutes, Conan's is 17.
Venue's mic my bass cab but I don't think they're actually sending it through the PA, cause I'm louder than the PA haha.

i think i know geoff and bryan well enough that theyd be honest with me. youve complained so much about it i had to bring it up with them, they said they only hate when it takes bands forever and they suck lol.
and again, that other band at the side bar we played with took just as long if not longer than us with similar amounts of gear. its just something that goes with the territory. if you want short set up/tear down times, do what meshuggah does and dont use amps, just go direct.
and they helped move stuff cause obviously it helps speed things up, but its also called being friendly at shows. i think ive helped the majority of bands we've played with load/unload their stuff as a common courtesy. all part of the doom community chief!

Last show, no. I found the sound guy as soon as we got to the venue to talk to him about bees in a trashcan (thanks Ron), he looks at my rig and said, nah, you don't need to come throught the PA. 
I win this round, sound guy!!!There was that YOB meme that actually happened too. My buddy came to watch us a few weeks back, we started jamming, he went to the restroom and came back, and we were still playing the same song. Hadn't made it past the first main riff before he came back.

yes, its called being friendly. if they dont want help i wont push it, but its all part of being cool to people at shows. if i played a show with anyone from this thread id gladly offer to carry any piece of equipment they asked.
people can touch my gear all they want, theyre not china dolls, theyre amps and cabs lol.

Yeah I guess that's what I was trying to wrap my mind around, it seems all the smaller venues bars seem to have some type of PA or brought in by the band, but what is the point if you can fill the place yourself. Plus I seem some awesome bands sound terrible in one venue and great at another because of the sound man I am assuming, seems like people spend so much time tweaking their tone then some stump jumper can jazz it all up behind the mixer.
