yea the idea in my mind is that sometimes people might want some more gain out of the OCD so why not give them that option. Plus the post EQ to really adjust how much low end the circuit has

My Favorite OD ever. The OCD does cut a little too much low end but to me that's what makes it good. OD with too much low end becomes too fuzzy. The OSD retains a bit more low end without sounding fuzzy but the OCD still has a nicer OD tone in my opinion.

Well the '68 pickup I dropped was saved and the bass turned out great. The rewind from lindy fralin was a huge success.

His '75 on the left, '71 w/ '68 guts in middle, my '74 on the right. His Frankenstein was the best sounding of all of them. And I hate him for it ;). It is seriously the best P pickup I've ever heard. Perfect lows, mids, highs, and output. Now I'm on a qwest to find something as good or better. See you on the other side of this rabbit hole :)

the stock clipper cap in the OCD is 68 nF, smaller caps means less low end to be clipped. For reference RATs uses like 2.2uF and 4.7uF stock I believe. That is about 100 times larger caps so they have more low end being clipped so more gain but also more compression. in the design I allow 68nF to be picked but also something smaller to thin it down more, and also progressively larger caps up to 1uF

I am really pleased with my Way Huge Pork Loin and Green Rhino pedals, from clean boosts to fairly heavy overdrive, they are really nice with both guitar and bass.

Do you use a similar smaller cap in the Volthrower to keep the lows? I am have been geeking out lately reading basic Electronics books so I don't get as lost in the posts as much and so I don't mess up as much doing pickup swaps and such lol.

yea but in this case its doing some active work in a gain stage rather than a passive HPF

It's like being a back seat passenger, no one wants the dreaded hump, knees jacked way up, off balance and hoping not to bounce into the left or right side passenger when making curves, and you are the one left with the straight shot through the windshield in a crash, right after you take the rear view mirror off with your face.
The Seat of Doom...
