...I guess it just bothers me because the whole stoner doom movement started out being anti image and unpretentious. Now there's d bags posting ads requiring you look a certain way to be in their band.
It's no skin off my back and obviously anyone who doesn't like it can avoid those types of people. It just seems like these guys are sort of missing the point.

That's what got me into it. That and the heavy music. I don't need a uniform to play music and that's what was lost on punk rockers. I have always been the one who is "comfortable". My friend had a house party in high school. We found some special fungus, and from that point forward, I was in gym shorts and my hepcat t-shirt. People were all partying the whole night and were asking me why I was wearing my ensemble. My reply was that I didn't want annoying clothes distracting me from my good time. I have always tried to abide by that, regardless of the situation. I can't enjoy myself anywhere, if my clothes suck...
So, you will never catch me in stage in a flannel.
A genre should be defined by the music.
