Though not tube, my PA200 volume only increases between 830-12. Below 830 theres almost nothing, then its super sensitive between that 830-12. Above that, volume doesnt increase it just dirties up.

Although I havent tried it through anything more than a single 1x15 yet...cant wait til i can add a second.

How long ago was that? I know that they moved and were kind of out of the loop for a while. From my experience, they've been nothing but awesome. Pretty sure the owner is even here on TB.

Yeah, not bad. Almost made it through a whole show live. But the super treble of Ric guitars and fender amps killed my ears.
They are a part of the organization of "Austin Psych Fest"... Which I would like to attend, but like every other fest ticket sales turn into wristbands and cost $150. Which sucks. Acid Mothers Temple is only coming to Austin for that this year. :hmm:

Thanks, everyone I know is fine. There were millions of extra people in the city yesterday (seriously, Marathon Monday/Patriots Day is a big, big deal here - Red Sox game at 11:00 AM, marathon afternoon, Bruins game at night) where the whole place shuts down and becomes a big party. This could have been much worse.


What a mess indeed. The pictures... these events never seems to mean too too much when it's somewhere else, but when you recognize every single scene involved it hits hard. Maybe that's provincial and selfish, but it is what it is.

sorry been busy. Power Ratings? RMS vs Peak, and what frequency? what amount of THD?

I saw those Mesa's, undersized headshell was my immediate thought. 400W? who knows. Loud? depends on the situation.

Generally 8 KT88s could get you 400W RMS clean if you have both the proper power supply and the proper OT (frequency response rated to what you need) and proper phase inverter. Not particularly difficult but companies love to squeeze **** into small chassis and think that is good. lol.

Plus beyond this, i think people in here all have different ideas of what is loud. Something to consider when trying to make comparisons.

you need to have a load attached to the tube power amp so your going to dump a ton of damn power to do this. I suggest just running a tube amp into dummy speaker load then taking another SS power amp to a real speaker cab.

I went to see Dead Meadow a few years back when they were opening for Black Angels. I thought BA wrote some killer songs but they lacked edge. Everything was a little too perfect if you know what I mean. The lead singer has some freakin pipes on him.
