Man I'm an only child I did that with my mom all the time. I'd hide behind the door in the garage when mom got home and when she walked in and pushed the door on me I'd sit still til she was almost past and reach out and grab her should and say, "You rang." Man did my Lurch scare her one time, in a panic she grabbed a broom and started fighting me.

Also hid under my parents bed (or anyone else) until lights out and quiet. Then just say in a calm voice "hey, I guess I should leave". Always freaked people out.

Good stuff, in my early twenties, I ran down to pick up my cousin to run up to beautiful Scranton PA to go to the Steamtown Mall, and I used the key and snuck in and I could hear he was in the shower so I waited in the hallway while he was singing Mighty Mighty Bosstones at the top of his lungs from thinking he was all alone, he got dressed and came around the corner and I screamed Boo, and man he buckled right to his knees, and was gasping for air. After he could function he congradulated me for the best scare of his life. I said you need to work on your self defense, buckling to your knees and screaming like a school girl just doesn't cut it.

I made it through a weekend of recording drums and scratch tracks. We got six songs done and the drums are sounding pretty good, I think. It also happened to be my first weekend with no caffeine and we had a heatwave, the world is a twisted place.

Congrats you'll love it. I've witnessed Laz's first hand and it'll rattle some fillings. Don't forget to put something under it like a towl or seat pad or it'll end up on the floor too.

Nice. Glad your recording is going well. Can't wait to hear the finished product.

The wife keeps wanting me to redo old folk songs and make them doomy (at least that's how I'm doing it, don't tell her shhhh). At first it was cool last night I was just like... I can't do this right now. There's only so much I can stand of traditional folk and the simon and garfunkel type stuff. I think it makes me sterile.

So much band drama accompanying the Cold Mourning recording. Not created by it, just bringing it to the forefront. I don't want to get into specifics in public, just because it's ongoing and so uncertain, but maaaaaaaan. What a pain in the butt. Having something to actually work on in the band is a nice change of pace at least. Maybe when the songs are done I can actually put a link for the band back in my sig...since there will be proof it exists and is doing something.

Hopefully Warp Rig will record soon, we're about ready to do a proper demo. Just trying to fine tune the songs at the moment.

They say the most stressful life events are getting married, buying a house, deaths... they need to add band recording to that list. Lesson learned that I need to teach future bands I join - get all of your **** sorted out before recording or else no recording. It's going to take the smallest beef you had with someone and blow it up 100x. Just thinking about it is giving me a headache.

Is clean what you want? Totally maxed out and really digging into my J Bass, mine grinds a little, but maxed with my EB-3 is total sludge at the slightest touch. Dial the volume back some (on the amp or on the bass) and its cleans are very nice and seem a smidge louder overall than the grind. They stay as clean as you want.

To be honest, everything went totally smooth in recording. Everyone did a great job, it moved along very fast and we got a lot done with minimal problems. It's more about who wasn't there and who hasn't been around leading up to the recording and having their portion ready to go. It brings the issue to the forefront that at some point everything else is going to be done and one person will be holding everything up, if they don't step up dramatically. I hate dancing around issues, but the person involved seems totally oblivious to the problem and everyone else's frustration, so I don't want to come right out and say what's going on...in case it gets back to them and creates more drama.

I do agree though, I have seen that happen in bands during recording. More so as an engineer than my own bands. The studio can be an emotional pressure cooker.

I keep having this sinking feeling like the landlord is going to take forever to run electrical in the new practice spot. It has electrical but all the outlets are in the ceiling.

Frack me a day and half of work troubleshooting using every mapping trick up my sleeve to get some surveyed drawings from the company hired by our P&R department so they can begin construction that they are already behind on to line up to our system, to find out the survey company sent me plans from some other city in the State, why did I turn down the job at the State Fish Hatchery to go back to college to troubleshoot computers instead of working cultivation game fish, why, why, why
