Stoner/Doom Bassists #64 - sensitive artsy emo chicks

Hello Doomy folks. My gas is relentless lately. My wife is getting sick of hearing me talk about guitar and bass related items lol. Current plans -> sell ehx small clone and polytune and get a zoom ms-70cdr. Found out it has a built in tuner and I rarely use much modulation, though I'm on a filter kick.

That said, I found a guy on ebay modest mike that can take a crybaby and mod the living bejesus out of it and add a led and true bypass etc. I messaged him and asked him about bass and he can put a cap switch on it so it's useful for guitar or bass. I've never heard of such a thing, now I must have one.

Tremorslo coming soon. Might keep it, might not... probably trade it for a rat tail or something.

Oh and I think my rock band is breaking up...

I feel you Jason, I'm switching a bunch of stuff around and my fiancé is way past being interested in hearing about it.

I'm getting the BNA/greenboy 66 cab, I picked up a new pre/power amp setup. I've got my EGC on order which should be here later this summer. There is also a Dunwich preamp coming my way to be more permanent and awesome than the cheap dean markley pre I picked up on the cheap. Also decided my home setup is just uninspiring (GK 115BC) so I'm gonna need to switch that up for something more inspiring. I'm either going to go for a good small cab + low watt tube amp, or just go for the true classic and pick up an Ampeg B-15.

I used to run a old Harmony 30 watt tube 1x15 combo that sounded amazing, but lacked the fundamental low end due to it being an open back cab design which killed it for me.

Also sucks to hear that your band's breaking up, or at least on it's way out. Never a fun thing to happen.

Thanks, current status: the drummer decided he's done and called the guitarist 5 times to tell him. He finally left a voicemail saying "I'm done, I quit". If he's out, I'm not staying because he was my bud and I don't want to go through the drama of getting another drummer whenever I've only been in the band a few months. Seems like years though, played 2 gigs and recorded an ep already that was in the works. Have two shows scheduled too. I could finish it with them but I'd rather just let it go. Ah well.

You guys and your greenboys making me all jealous. My amp is the weakest part of my setup atm but it gets me through for now. The wife just bought a new set of drums and I picked up a sm58a beta so that line of credit is maxed for a while. Probably end up with a orange terror and some craigslist cab at some point.

Everyone loved the Dually of course :P

Of course they did. :bassist:

Ol' Dirty Bass? LOL!!!

Jimmy is on to this thread? There goes the neighborhood... ;)

In other news I proxied the purchase of this for my dad. Pretty sweet sounding guitar. ES339 hollow body with the 60's neck he digs. The sick thing is it has coil taps on both of the humbuckers, and a 10db gain boost.

If you don't plan on moving your home set up a lot, may I suggest the B15s. I had one and its a bit louder and tighter due to the SS rectifier. Loved that combo when i had it. Big bonus is switchable ohm loads.

Kawai, hit up those best buy in Ohio, I am jealous only one in Northern VA.
Man I am hobbled today, I have tagged myself with weed eaters before, but I bought a new corded one because my yard is small less than an acre and with the disgusting humidity and how thick my yard is with trees the gas smell just hangs around you, so electric or battery is the way too fly. So I was hooking the extension cord up and of course being hot I was wearing shorts and vans and was rest the end of the weed eater on my foot while hooking up the cord, well I bumped the trigger with my thumb after I got the cord hooked, oh man did I ligh myself up, the design would make a nice tattoo though lol. So rocking my black guy strut today, big pimpin because I am big gimpin
