Stoner/Doom Bassists #64 - sensitive artsy emo chicks

Got myself a Fender Blacktop Jazz bass the other week, after seeing and playing it I was completely in love with it (then finding out Jeff Matz uses one now days with HOF helped too :P), but I'm thinking maybe sticking some new pickups into it to give it a little more oomph, though I'm not sure yet. Anyone have any suggestions for good P pickups that'd work well for doom? I'm kinda thinking maybe the DiMarzio split-p that has the humbuckers in it, but I'm not sure just yet.

More driving today, met a local who lived in Minnesota but moved back because he inherited his families massive estate built in the 1700s, he was kind enough to give me and my dad a tour, beautiful place, hes in the process of replacing all the windows, 69 total windows all of them are over a story tall. Saw a castle from 1060 in Caen. There are so many hedges in france. Perfect hedges, right angles, not a leaf out of line.

DAMN GIRL YOUR HEDGES ARE SO TIGHT!

Sounds like a blast. Those hedgerows are really annoying if you trying to stage an amphibious assault in France.

Actually I dig it. I got for a third of the price from Best buy because they are getting rid of all of their music gear so they are making hellish deals on the stuff.
The thing is light as hell and is rated at 300 watts

Did you find it at your local Best Buy marked down or online, I looked online but didn't see close out prices on the music gear?

It was at a local best buy. I talked to one of the salesmen and he told me that they are no longer going to sell any kind of music gear in their stores and they are only going to sell them online.

I've made a killing there. Last week I got that cab plus a Speakon cable for $160. The week before I got a Bronco bass (that I have since traded away) a Roland cube (which is an awesome practice amp) and an MXR script phaser all for $180.

The last time that I was there they still had some effects pedals that i was thinking about picking up because they are so cheap. They have a few of the nano chorus pedals and bassballs there for like $40. Which if I do decide to pick one up, I'll talk them down to something in the $20 range.

They also had one of the Ampeg 410 B line cabs for like $250. If I wasn't all cabbed out, I would offer them $150 for it and settle in the $180 range.

If I were you guys, and your local Best Buy carries gear, get in there and see what's doin'.

I need to take a trip up north and see what my best buy has.
