It's just a stock Fender MIM Standard Precision, with a Dimarzio Model P installed. I use the bottom 4 strings of a DR Nickel Lo-Rider 5 string set. It just barely intonates properly at the action I like. I've thought about moving the bridge back just a little or maybe replacing the bridge with a Hipshot or something. Not for tone reasons, just to get the action and intonation dialed in a little more exact, but it gets the job done fine as is for me.

Mini Mu clip, same riff over and over with me trying some random settings. Most of the clip is with the Bluebeard in front of the Mini Mu. Bass was my Ric and I recorded straight from the Tone Hammer DI with no speaker sim.

Oh boy things got a little salty back there. Anyway, I'm in the JoeVictim camp. Cheap ****, whatever i can afford. Works for me and I've gotten nothing but compliments on my tone.

Its weird, the speaker preference thing. Talking gear on the internet, nobody has a feel for what it sounds like unless they've played that cab. So its real easy to be suspicious about what cab X or cab Y can do. Then there is the fanboy enthusiasm issue that blows sh!t out of proportion. We all know what we like about what we have played, but beyond that we are talking out our a$$es. Still its cool hearing about all the new and different stuff we all use to make heavy music.(that may or may not be distorted and downtuned)
If my daughter hadn't have come along I never would have got rid of my 215d, but she did and I'm glad. That being said building fEARful on no budget blows, at least I'm between bands and don't need to achieve war-volume.

We all just have to except that there are different ways to achieve volume. No one is wrong for doing it a different way. Every second thread is a pissing match.
That said, I'll be posting our backline soon. Nick's rig will be appreciated by the "I like a lot of f'ing speakers" crowd.
It's all love. Just accept that we all have similar goals. Not just one way to get to the party.
Lots of catch up today...
Did lots of stuff today, the only full day in london, squeezed a lot of stuff in, london eye, the palace, parliament, even got in a nap in a park. Ended the day seeing Spamalot, which is hilarious. Honestly the coolest thing though has the be the underground rail system, its amazing, makes traveling the city so easy and cheap, I wish Milwaukee had something like it.
Leave for home tomorrow, cant wait to get playing again...but apparently the space isnt done yet, for whatever reason, was supposed to be done by the 1st and my bandmates were going to start the move in while i was was gone, but NOPE. So running all 3 18s together is still gonna have to wait, hopefully were in by this weekend, we booked a show on the 24th and have only played twice together in the past 2 months.

ran my rick through my guitarist's Matamp 412 cab last night. holy **** does that thing have some serious midrange, and pretty much exactly what i'm missing from my current setup - looks like my second cab will be a clone of that. 412+100w, 215+200w.

Mark is working on how to ship the '66 to me currently.
I've been running the berg NV610 & NV215. But I traded the 215 with Jason for his strategy 400. Ideally I was hoping to keep all three until I could figure out what setup was going to work best but the trade was too good to pass up.
So currently all I have is the NV610. But in theory the '66 should be here in around a week. So we will see how it works, especially in the band mix.
Might end up using both, we will see.
Ill be sure to give full in depth updates once it does show up.
