Both of my guitarists are using around 400 watts each. Through 12x12's and 4x12's and 2x15's respectively.
But we don't really count as what could be considered normal.
In CSTVT each guitarist ran about 200 watts via 4x12's or 6x12's speakers.

Man is it terrible that I just got that Aria Cardinal in and am not bonding with it because of the short scale, just feels too small too me? Great guitar but think I really got so used to Fender scale length. Anyone wants it or knows someone who wants an old Aria Cardinal let me know, thanks. Just orderd new knobs for it since one was missing. I am thinking of just getting bodies I find with the right pickup settings and going back to Fedner/Mighty Neck like I used to do, really jonesin to do a mini-humbucker guitar in Fender scale length or baritone scale length. This body would be good for P90s or Mini-buckers.

Guitar player is using a 350W class d micro bass head and amptweaker tight metal with 4x12s.

I wouldn't feel terrible, I've lusted over then finally bought instruments and completely couldn't bond with them.
Fender Jazzmaster for one, I love how they look and sound, but once I actually owned one I just couldn't get comfortable on it at all. I'm also not very good at guitar so that didn't help either. But when it came down to it, I am much more comfortable on a Gibson scaled guitar than fender (opposite of you apparently).

Yeah I like that Jazzmaster look too, but that upper horn looks painful and I think the tone would be too bright for my tastes even on guitar I don't like excessive treble. I love the looks and tone of Gibsons both guitar and bass, and I know sometimes they make certain gutiars in Fender scale length. I find playing Strats and Teles to be super comfy, so think I may work on finding some unique pickup config bodies I want to try and fiddle with that some. I tend to favor the neck pickup or the middle tone, I hate a muddy neck pup and a trebly neck pickup, trying to find that just right neck pup tone, or maybe a three pup guitar to balance out the tone using both the middle and neck pup or just a great pup in the middle position.

Would it kill people to use their cell phones to record from near the sound booth and point at the whole band? Nothing like a camera guy pointing at a singer when he isn't singing and the guitarist has a solo. Fail.

haha why strange? Just curious. Id like to build 1 as my E Standard guitar, and it would be totally iommi worship. Already has a p90 in the bridge and then id remove the tone control and put a rangemaster inside the control cutout, wire the Boost control where the tone control was with a push pull switch to activate the rangemaster
I can relate to that too. I bought a Fender J Mascis signature Jazzmaster when they came out (The purple/gold MIJ ones) and hated it. I had been wanting a Jazzmaster for about 10 years and I still want to try a standard one. Our drummer in Warp Rig bought a Squier VM one recently and I thought it sounded better than the MIJ Fender one I had. I heard those first releases had awful pickups that weren't anything close to real Jazzmaster pickups too.

That looks cool, what's the company? I'd love to try my hand at building something like that. I still want to try making some bolt on necks from scratch now, so I can get to the point of building a whole instrument from scratch. I have a feeling getting into set neck and neck through is going to be a whole different ballgame, but I want to try it.

THat's a beaut Clark. I am a weirdo, I wouldn't mind a single pup guitar if the pup was in the middle of the body or the neck, but love that simple look of the Jrs

Again, don't really play guitar...but I would want one setup like that. Sounds awesome.
I've got 3 guitars that are all way too nice for me to own. They were all passed down etc so I can never get rid of them. But it also clears any guitar lust I have - 67' SG, 80' LP, and one my uncle and I built to try to start a guitar business but never panned out. Plus a couple of acoustic's that I tinker with from time to time (a fender and guild 12 string)
I saw Video of J Mascis saying how he wants his pickups to be the old vintage style Jazzmasters and not the hotter ones that come on some different models. He said that's how he got the Dinosaur Jr tone and the only guitars that work for that. Nels Cline is another Jazzmaster guy, and a that dude is a pedal freak and the Sonic Youth guys. The guitars that always make me drool are the 70s style teles with the strat headstocks and the twin chrome humbuckers.
