Stoner/Doom Bassists #65: Wasted Under the Brim

Just got back from denmark, had a great gig yesterday, outdoor stage, best atmosphere ever! Freakin' love denmark!

Been drinkin' beer all day today at a cozy Danish pub, and then some (a lot of) whisky on the plane and the drive from the airport. Life is good!

Spinning some Burzum on vinyl now to settle down, Filosofem FTW!

Sounds like fun. Welcome back.

Speaking of, some of you guys have interesting Screen Names, and I always wondered what MC_Muench was. I gleaned from your vacation updates your Scottish and your name is Muench? is it like McMuench or is the MC just like the hip hop prefix? Niff, Locopeland, and Sartori also peaked my curiosity.

catching up on thread - mine's been my internet username since 2002 or so when i was really young. my cousin Finn was born recently so for some reason i just decided to reverse his name (kinda).

I just saw Bill Maher do 2 hours of stand up/political commentary in downtown Buffalo. I thought he put on a really good performance.
Surprising amount of smoking hot women there.

Then I went home to an empty house and drank a liter of 8 month old Evan Williams 30 proof egg nog. To make it even more unappealing(like it wasn`t already) it`s 92 degrees outside and humid as fvck. Straight up swamp ass and nutmeg burps.

Any suggestions for chairs or stools made specifically for sitting down and playing bass/guitar? I think I'm going to have to sit down with the low ceiling in our new practice space, and want to get something that will be comfortable.

Eh, after glancing on Amazon, I think my best bet is to just grab a stool off craigslist for $5 lol.

Cheap barstool or a drum throne works we'll.

6 hour drive to the cottage, playlist set.

Nice Sam!

That is one of the most fun, high energy shows I had the good fortune to see. It was on the Chocolate and Cheese tour and they played in a tiny bar in Tallahassee FL. I was front and center. I had never seen them play live and had only heard mostly music from Pure Guava and Chocolate and Cheese. I was expecting to not be that impressed. I was expecting them to be smashed and not be able to pull off much in the way of music.

I was pleasantly surprised. Sure the bassist, then Andrew Weiss, of the then Rollins Band, came out with a bottle of Jose Cuervo, the drummer with a bottle of Jack, and they opened up like four+ beers for Dean on his amp... BUT! THEY WERE TIGHT!! They killed it all night just CRAZY guitar and even bass solos. I love Weiss.

Roses are free and Can't Put My Finger On It were crazy intense with extended jams that just exploded all over that stage. What a great concert.

Dude, what? I thought you were a bm type guy? Shaaame... :D

I do like black metal.

I just ****ing hate Burzum. And I feel no shame whatsoever in saying that. The guy is a douche among douches, at least from my

Besides which, just speaking on the matter of what I prefer, musically, I would rather have had one more Mayhem album with Euronymous than everything Burzum has ever released or ever will release.

I know it seems to be some sort of rule that if you like black metal you have to like Burzum or whatever. I just don't care. :p

Well the cover band finally imploded and the singer quit. I actually glad it happened that way. It figures though that as soon as I'm pretty much 100% happy with my tone for the cover band it breaks down. But when one door closed one opens. I have 2-3 potential original projects in the works and a actual game plan for machete. October when the guitar players surf gigs die down we are going to start trying drummers starting with the guy in the cover band. Things are going well for the new unnamed project as I went through the laptop last night and 5-7 potential riffs for songs. 2 of which mostly there and just need some final arrangement and polish. Then I got asked to play with this band https://www.facebook.com/thecontinuance. They got some tunes up to check out. So all in all still all smiles :)
