Yeah, it's there an Australian pelican? The Chicago band is not anything I'd consider sludge. That first ep was awesome, i liked australasia enough, lost them after that. And yeah, mammoth rules.

They start at about $8-900 plus shipping and go up front there, depending on what options you add on. The fiver is about a grand base price I think. They have quite a lot of options too. Mine was sunburst finish, black hardware, black pickguard, birdseye maple board/headstock, stainless steel frets, hipshot drop-tuner (which I NEVER use)...all those are upgrades and it ran about $1200 or so. A lot of people have said and I totally agree, it's the best jazz style bass value for dollar hands down. I honestly believe that, whether people like the particularly different things about the shape, headstock and all that may invalidate it for them. The B40/B50 basses are really good too and less money, they just have a more straightforward aesthetic.

Yeah, the B40 style option would be my choice. Why did Carvin need a whole new platform for the new pickup, you know? People would have been hella stoked just to have a current model with the option for the P. And with as good a job as they did on the J99's, I'd be hard pressed not to look at their P offering if/when I have the funds for an upgrade.
And how hard would it be for them to get one of their pro players to make a video with it... Carvin, you are slippin', son.
Yeah, I agree on giving the B40/B50 a p pickup option would have made the most sense, but I guess they wanted the most marketing bang for their buck. They also may have wanted some specific features that they didn't want to add on to that line. I do seriously hope they start adding the option to other basses though. I want a PJ version of a B40. I hope they get some good demo clips up soon. If they're smart they'd get Ed Friedland to make them a demo. Hey really did the SB series justice.
There are a lot of "Gospel Options"...lots of lawyer tops available as well.
I know you can get the B series basses with no routing for an extra $50 (they send you the pickup and guts separately). So you could potentially route them for whatever pickups you want, at least one person on TB has done it and shown pics of good results. I don't know if they'll do it with their neckthrough models, but there's probably a pickup configuration you could get and modify to Thunderbird style pickups without a lot of fuss. Especially since they have a bezel.

Don't know what Mercury Retrograde is but would make a cool band name, sorry you are on shite run of luck. If you didn't make a baby with one of those exes then don't waste the breathe or time on spilt milk, if the past was so great it would be your present, concentrate and enjoy your present I say. Nostalgia is a two-edged sword, sometimes great memories sometimes its a tall tale about the fish that got away...
Mercury is the messenger. In astrology, it governs our travel, communications, all kinds of stuff. Several times a year, the planet spins backwards for a while, making all kinds of stupid crap happen.
Keep in mind, I've been in customer service type jobs for like 14 years and have seen how crazy those months are comparitively and I can pick out when it's happening without even googling it. It's like suddenly no one knows how to talk to each other, people make stupid decisions, electronics start going on the fritz for no explainable reason... believe it or not, I dare anyone to take the mercury retrograde months and compare them to the non months =p. 9 more days of fun!

Nice rig(s). Not sure if there is any meaning to the Bass Stache but I saw a car driving yesterday with a window sticker of that same style of Stache you stick on everything. I said to my girlfriend that lady has a Muench Stache on her car, all excited, she said who is Muench and what does the Stache sticker mean, lol
Oh and btw, my wife and I have been trying to do voiceovers with a nifty condensor mic a lot of sites suggest through her computer. Today we found out that my Shure sm58 beta through my fender passport mixer with usb recording worked soooooo much better for our noisey ass rental house than that thing. Don't use a studio condensor mic at home when you have wood floors, pets, and a motorcycle repair business next door. Just aint gonna fly man.

Yeah, the wife insisted in using a fancy studio mic like all the vm nerds seem to.. I swear I think these people have worse gas than we do. Now I want a sm7b or maybe a nice heil or something. I've never in my life had microphone gas. It's... unnatural.
